I love the special effects used in this video. They put a lot of money into this one!

New Jersey doesn't allow these types of ads, but Pennsylvania does.

And let me tell you, they are extremely effective. PI attorneys in PA can do fairly well (whereas PI in Jersey is a dying specialty). These ads inundate daytime tv. People out of work, people with nothing to do but sit and stew about how they got screwed. Now, you take from this that I have a distaste for PI attorneys, but I don't, certainly not any more than for other types of attorneys.

I think the one I see all the time is "Rand Spear: Accident Attorney" over in PA.

But trust me, if those ads didn't work, they wouldn't run them.

Kind of sad if you think about it. Trusting your suit to some guy with a horrible tv ad.

What's even more disturbing? Take a look at the list of attorneys and their profiles from the ad that Chater put up. There are some pretty impressive folks there, based on their cv's, which tells you a hell of a lot about the legal industry right now.

Yeah, you do. For every jackass PI lawyer, I've seen an equal number of jackass defense attorneys from 'respectable' firms that pull some of the most unethical bullshit I've seen, like lying to judges, double and triple billing, lying to clients, adversaries, fellow partners prior to a split and all sorts of shit that would give Satan a boner because he'd say 'holy fuck, that's underhanded, I wish I thought of that.'

At least most PI attorneys are up front about what they're doing, not hiding behind some civilized veneer of respectability that once you peel it away you find the basest of greed.

Jesus. LISTEN TO THIS FUCKING GUY. Honest, yes. But he really REALLY makes me want to punch him in the face, like only a lawyer can. These snake oil salesman that fiend off of Capitilizing on the misery and personal issues people have makes me sick:

I hate this douchebag and love him at the same time:

It may not be a law firm that's advertising a steaming pile of what the fuck, but it's still awesome as hell. Mo' Money Taxes brangs you a check in 30 seconds or less.

A co-worker knows the white guy in some way. Apparently, he used to work in IT, but all the fame of being a greedy fuck up in a ghetto tax return service commercial can pull some pussy. He's trying to expand his acting career.

My opinion of the legal profession and the some of the people I've seen involved with it could go on for pages, but nobody cares. I'll say this, though. Of the three PI attorneys I know, two of them have very large houses with no mortgages, and live more comfortably than several of the 'dignified' lawyers I know. Like Ballsack said, if you find the money melon, you're golden. Or, you can hustle, cheat and defraud your way into one hell of a mediocre, unscrupulous career.

The sound quality sucks, but you can still make out the most irritatingly catchy lawyer jingle ever at the very end. Unemployment means hearing this fucking thing at least three times a day.

Well, if I creatively interpret the Focus: to be more about ANNOYING ads than just about annoying LAWYER ads...

Everyone hated this commercial after seeing it a billion times in 2004!

You gotta hand it to Empire carpets though, for sticking to the same guy and jingle for 33 years. The first one's from the 70's the second is from 2008.

(video is fucked for the first, but you can hear the jingle)

Reminds me of a great Office quote-

I present to you Eric C. Conn.

He is a ssi lawyer who loves to get people on the draw. This guy has billboards and even statues of himself set up all around Eastern Kentucky. Funny thing was they tried to get me to help set it up but I thought it was ridiculous. I would have helped out if I knew that hot girl was going to be there.

    There was also this video....

    I wish I had this guys money...fuck

Wait what? If they're illegal, how come you can see this on Comcast on a daily basis?

I secretly hope that he's wearing the full Canadian tuxedo.

In my area, the commericial below is for D'Oliveira and Associates instead of whatever attorney this is advertizing. I find this hilarious because it's the exact same commercial, but for another attorney. This 1-800-Hurline is popular all over. Who knew?

This is the lawyer ad that all other lawyer ads should be based on.

Just to add more fuel to the fire the attorney's name is Corri Fetman and hers are the boobs on the left side of the billboard. Here she is in all her trashy glory. She also posed for Playboy. God Bless America.

Off focus-- I worked in the same office building as Peter Francis Geraci for a while. Say what you will about the fact that he looks like a puppet made by Sid and Marty Kroft-- he's very, very wealthy. The real story isn't how boring his commercials are, but how he runs a large volume practice based on consumers by churning and burning through nameless attorneys. Note to future grads -- this could be you.

More slightly on point-- the trick in P.I. work for plaintiffs is cherry-picking cases. The saying in P.I. is "The better a plaintiff's lawyer is, the easier the case. The better a defense lawyer is, the harder." These ads are just fishing for those cases. You want to know what's (far) worse than these ads? Campaign donations by Plaintiff's firms to elected judges.
