I'm an accountant, so during tax season I will try to prepare, for free of course, tax returns for as many friends and relatives that will let me - some people understandably don't want their friends/family to know how much money they make. In most cases it's a small time investment on my part (20 - 30 minutes), and it saves them from going to H&R Block and paying at least $100 for the same service or plunking down $50 on Turbo Tax and doing it themselves. Win - win.
