I’m seeing Anthrax, Black Label Society and Exodus tonight with some friends from the hood. I’m not a huge fan of any of the bands, but I’m looking forward to BLS, and the tickets were gifts from the wives. Should be a good time.
I follow Mike Dawes, an incredible acoustic guitar player I've mentioned before. He just released a version of All Along The Watchtower, in celebration of Dylan's birthday.
Well in about 4 hours I will be listening to Steve Miller, Def Leopard, and Journey with all the remaining Boomers in SF. Steve Miller was disappointing 45 years ago when I last saw him. Journey is Journey in name only. I have not ever seen Def Leopard and most of the members are original to the band so I am hopeful for that. Have fun everyone.
I saw this guy open for a band about 7 years ago and after grinding for years, he finally released his first full album. If you enjoy traditional country (not that rap/bro country shit) give him a spin. I wish the songs were a little more cohesive but I think he was just trying to show his range of music. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2y1Hdljrz_yu8y5ecnVmFw
I always get in a mood when summer ends, and go down sad song rabbit holes. Man, do I remember feeling like this man many years ago. I found this song last year, just revisiting it now. Take care of your mental health, people.
Randomly stumbled across Bush and Breaking Benjamin doing cover of AiC - Would?: Surprised with how good it is.
Somewhere here I posted that Shooter Jennings found a shit ton of his dad's completed, unreleased songs from the late 70s into the early 80s. Aka, Waylon's heyday. Enough songs for three albums. The first album dropping Oct 3rd and the first song was just released. It's a remake of Fleetwood Mac's Songbird and just magical IMO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6OlvttAEvo&list=RDr6OlvttAEvo&start_radio=1 PS. I don't know how to embed a YT video because electronics are stupid.
Holy shit that’s an awesome song and an amazing find. Waylon is one of those artists that, as a lifelong country fan, I appreciated for his stature and place in the genre but never got into his music. Then I got older and it clicked.
My sons took me to see Tupperware Remix Party (TWRP) and Ninja Sex Party (NSP) Sunday night. I bought a couple of CDs at the show and that is what I am listening. The bands are very talented and got a pretty good mix at the board which always helps.
