Happy Whiskey Sour Day! I think this must be one of @Nettdata 's favorites. What's your favorite whiskey and recipe? Do you use egg white?

For @Rush-O-Matic , for being so patient about the lack of new WDT boobies...

Christina Hendricks brought her cleavage to the Emmys. At least, that's what the tmz article states. Sour ea say Christina attended, too.

Happy Friday all you idiots. Who is cooking something good whole they sip on their whiskey sour?

Christina Hendricks as Saffron in Firefly is the best role ever. Uhh... brb.

    Back!

Yeah, love me some bourbon sours. So much so that I just bought 2 1 gallon concentrates (makes 4 gallons each) of killer sweet and sour bar mix made by Finest Call. It's damn tasty. Mix 1:1 with bourbon of your choice, and I could (try to) drink that all day.

I've stocked up for a few upcoming road trips with the Tin Can.

The best part is you can use shit bourbon because it's not like you can really taste the difference with that mix anyway.

But no, I don't add egg whites... primarily because it's too much work once you get a few deep... just pour bourbon, top with S&S, maybe ice, and go.

In the last thread I forgot to mention I was also making beans.

    I follow this recipe:

It's REALLY tasty... and I just put the dried beans in water to soak for a day or so. (cheaper than buying canned pinto beans).

    Thanks, 'wildered!

The "secretary's" desk at my office has a "Joan Harris" nameplate on it.

And, Hendricks on Firefly was great, but Morena Baccarin was (is) the most beautiful woman on that show.

Gotta agree to disagree with that one, Hoss.

I'll take real-life Jessica Rabbit any day, all day.

I'm drinking wine on whiskey sour day and you can't strop me. I would also murder for those beans right now, god damn.

I have a thing for three things. British/Australian accents, redheads, huge boobs. Ginger Spice was the ultimate trifecta, but Christina Hendricks is just on another level. Sadly, she's not a real redhead, but she at least dyes it correctly instead of making it that weird red color which is completely unnatural.

I am 100% a Kaylee man. But I always prefer to cute/beautiful down to earth over the bomshell who knows shes the shit. For example in Chuck I was all about the sister Ellie over Sara.

I mean Hendricks married the frog kid from Super Troopers. Plus her boobs have their own black hole sized gravity.

Things I did not know until today.

Earlier this week, I discovered Amy Adams is also not a true redhead.

The entire world is a lie!

Well shit... sister just called and the bbq tomorrow is cancelled as she's tested positive for COVID again, 2 days after testing negative. Apparently that's a thing with the latest strain... an immediate re-infection.

Anyway... anyone want to come over for some food?

I've got a shit ton of stuff being prepped/cooking for tomorrow that is now not going to be needed... and it's way, way too much for me to have tonight or freeze/keep.

Lamb chops are marinading in the fridge (dinner tomorrow night). Drunken beans are in the oven, done in about 30 mins. Pork Belly burnt ends are about 2 hours from being done.

Oh well... it's been a fun day of cooking regardless.

The citrus/pickled red cabbage has now been repurposed for a nice wine vinegar, onion, apple, clove braised cabbage to go with the tomohawk pork chops tonight.

Not a bad day, overall... enjoying a few beverages while running the stove and smoke, and enjoying the restart of F1 racing after the summer break.

Just sauced the burnt ends... one with "normal" spice, the other hotter, with the hot honey mix. They look fucking amazing, and taste divine.

Beans are done and resting on the stove.

Pork Tomahawks are absorbing a killer rub in prep of grilling.

I'm on my 4th blender cocktail featuring Pimm's and fresh sprigs of thyme and some fresh fruit.

    Today is a great day!

It is basically an 8 hour drive for me to even get to a highway intersection that doesn't lead deeper into nowhere.

    Too late. Carnage is over.

You’re more than welcome to show up to help cleanup if you like.
