Featuring my favorite sexy potato, Rumer Willis. Happy Friday, especially to all you guys still grinding away at work. I am busy in the yard mostly these days. I have planted bok choy, kale, swiss chard, spinach, radishes, and snow peas outside. I have plenty more under lights. It's fun to do but boring to talk about, so.... @jdoogie , what do you have planned with all that lovely new beer? Be good, y'all.
my sister lives about 200 yards away on the ranch. She decided to allow her indoor cats to become outdoor cats. They loved it at first. They also don't know how to be proper outdoor animals -- you're taking a highly domesticated thing (and, I would argue with those two assholes, incredibly retarded) and allowing it to explore a world with other predators and ways to hurt itself. Not surprisingly, one of the two fuckers went missing almost immediately. Unfortunately, the other one has still been coming over to our house and tormenting our cats (who are smart, use the doggie door, and have manners like a civilized fucking creature). He still tries to attack them though, so I'm full on defense mode against the stupid fucker. At their encouragement, I started throwing water on the piece of shit to run him off. This has escalated to shooting him with an airsoft gun since he seems to enjoy the showers. Again, he has not gotten the point. Yall got better ideas? I'm not getting a more powerful airsoft gun, because I'm not sure I want to actually injure him. The one I have isn't terribly powerful -- though insanely accurate -- and I can at least keep him at a distance now with these biodegradable airsoft pellets.
Either that or an Easter Island statue. Those kids got the worst of what their parental genetics could provide.
Along with banging Demi in her absolute prime and being John fucking McClane. My mother also has dementia. Personally I would rather check out early that having every earned memory being slowly but surely turned into a white wall of nothing.
Can't fucking catch him. The one time I set out a coon trap and he got stuck in it, he went so ape shit that I had to wear my welding gloves to release him. That other thread about fighting animals and I said I probably wouldn't fuck with cats? He's the demon I was thinking of specifically.
If you haven’t cried enough or haven’t seen dementia from a sufferers point of view, watch the documentary about Glenn Campbell and the song “I’m not gonna miss you”. Illuminating and heartbreaking.
My father died from early-onset Alzheimer's. He suffered from 62-72 and it was horrible. Now my mom (84) is starting to show signs of dementia. It sucks. I love the Campbell doc, and the Ghost On The Canvas album.
Grandmother on my mom's side died from Alzheimer's and my uncle (same side) has dementia setting in so fair chance I'll get it. One of the most heartbreaking moments of my life was when I visited her and she had me go through the family photos with her and she'd write the names of who was in the photo on the back of them.
Worst part when my grandma came down with it was seeing my grandpa deal with it. He absolutely adored her and spoke of her like a teenage crush until he died. He was stoic about the situation in front of us and he tried his best to care for her himself for as long as he could. At a certain point he was overwhelmed and she had to go into a home. He had to tell her my dad died which at that point she didn't comprehend anything. In much lighter news, it's almost sundress season!
My wife is dealing with that now. Her grandma is in her 90s but her dementia is so bad that she is violently acting out at my wife's grandfather to the point where they're not sure if they can even live together anymore. It's pretty heartbreaking for their whole family.
