It's about to officially be spring. The gardening frenzy is real here, but when is it not. This woman is excited about these warm days ahead. Spoiler It might be time to prep some fresh sangria for next weekend to drink while enjoying the beautiful weather. I'll be cleaning the house madly to get ready for a MiL visit next weekend. Y'all have fun. Happy Friday!
We’re having a delayed St. Patrick’s Day neighborhood shindig this weekend. Plenty of Irish stew, shepherds pie and cottage pie will be consumed with beer and brown liquors. I still don’t have the results of my liver checks so I’ll be taking it easy, but I never drink much when we host anyway. There’s too much work to be done and entertaining to be conducted.
https://gcaptain.com/ever-forward-boarded/ Here we go again. Same company that blocked the canal, had a ship grounded in the Chesapeake.
This weekend is the start of the new F1 season. F1 has new owners as of a couple years ago, and they worked hard to update the available viewing options, most notably their internet streaming live and on demand. This seems to be the first year that the full options of that service have been made available to us here in Canada, so I signed up. Holy shit is it amazing. So far the service has been great... the live broadcasts, and replay capabilities, the various feeds from different broadcasters (F1 Live team or Sky from what I've seen so far), plus dedicated feeds for each driver and data tracking. All available from my Apple TV apps, or the app on my iPhone/iPad, and web. It's what I consider to be reasonably priced at $70 a year... which more than pays for the time I save by not having to pirate the races any more. They've done a fantastic job on this.
I wish to hell the NFL would do this. I would happily pay $money for full access to any streaming game I want on any device, without having to jump through fucking hoops. The pirate streams are the easiest way for me to watch the NFL on Sundays, but they're not always the easiest to get up onto a TV. Just give me a way to pay for it, and I will. I don't really want Bezos to get any richer, but I wouldn't hate it if Amazon landed the Sunday Ticket rights.
Yeah, that's why I mentioned it here in this thread instead of the F1 thread... because this is what I would consider to be the ideal way to present sports to people. So far, I honestly cannot think of anything that I would change. As to the NFL, I have to think that long-term TV/commercial tie-in is a major factor. That, and I really wonder if the demographic for the NFL would consume it in with that streaming technology enough to warrant it?
NFL fans definitely skew older than most other sports, but I think we've hit the threshold where even my parents (70+) are streaming on smart TVs/Rokus/etc. because cable packages are stupid.
I keep seeing on the news that the price of gas is slowly falling, but is anyone actually seeing this with their own eyes? Our price rose .14 a gallon in the past week. Today I paid $5.74, which means, theoretically, my car will hold $100 worth of fuel. It's a fucking Camaro.
It's dropping. But, people filled up as it was climbing and aren't driving a lot, then the stations still have the pricey gas in the ground. There's a lag. Was around $4.29 here yesterday, now I'm seeing $4.09
I was excited to see $4.09 the other day, said to myself, "oh yeah, let's get some of that cheap gas!"
Someone else can do the conversions but we're paying $2.20AU/litre for diesel in Australia at the moment
Headline: Woman Told To “Shut The Fuck Up”: …I’m wondering the same thing as you: what did she say to trigger this behaviour in the opposite sex?
Ever fall out of contact with someone for a while and then give them a short update on the last few years and fall into a naval gazing existential abyss of wondering if other people’s lives are as fucking ridiculous as yours?
