Happy Nut day. What, or who is your favorite nut? Everybody: "..." Me: Here's your nut stats! Spoiler Today in history, Lance Armstrong in 2012 was stripped of his 7 Tour de France titles. As you may recall, he competed after beating metastasized testicular cancer that left him single nutted. Anyone still have a Livestrong bracelet in a junk drawer somewhere? Happy Friday, fellow idiots. We're in for some rain, and I'm lovin' it.
Oh. And as you were discussing in the previous thread, Alec Baldwin killed 1 and injured another on set with a prop gun. Continue to discuss amongst yoselves.
The fact that the head of an anti-NRA group has dropped more bodies than the head of the NRA is wild. Wayne LaPierre in shambles.
More and more is coming from the Rust / Alec Baldwin story. I can't imagine the guilt he is dealing with right now. Just awful. https://www.latimes.com/entertainme.../alec-baldwin-rust-camera-crew-walked-off-set
Sometimes you feel like a nut... EDIT: I've always thought Alec Baldwin was kind of a douche. This ought to knock him down a few pegs.
It's definitely awful. On the other hand, you definitely should never handle a firearm of any kind without personally checking it. If he received a gun that was supposed to be empty, he should have verified it was empty. All guns are loaded guns until proven otherwise.
Baldwin seems all over the map as a human being. Can come off affable and friendly, screaming maniac douche, or cooly boring host of a classic music program. I agree he was a post golden era dashingly handsome movie star. Somehow Keanu Reeves blast extras in the face at a faster per minute pace than 'fucks' in a Martin Scorsese film but somehow never managed to hurt anyone in the John Wick franchise.
Yeah. The armorers were absolutely negligent, but the safety of any firearm is the responsibility of the operator at any given moment. There have been countless accidents because someone took another person’s word for it.
I'm rewatching 30 Rock, and the writing holds up even better today than it did when it aired. Baldwin absolutely nails his character as well.
I have my own accidental discharge story. I brought out a shotgun, made sure it was clear before I stepped away from the case, then took it out to shoot. I loaded it, fired it until empty, and leaned it up against the house. I went inside, out of sight of the gun. I went back out and picked it and brought it back inside, shot a hole in the floor. Wife's little brother, he would have been about 14 at the time, had put a couple of shells back in it. Totally my fault, no doubt about it, for not clearing it again when I got back to it.
I feel like the bigger oversight here was not failing to clear it, but rather letting it fall into the hands of an unsupervised child.
With the realism the airsoft guns take on Im not sure why there isnt just a company Hollywood studios doesnt just contract to make real looking guns that can either shoot non bullet based blanks but not be able to functionally fire real bullets if the actual bullet needs to be seen in the shot.
Eh, the kid had been hunting since he could walk. He had permission to shoot it. It was my fault, period.
Been a long day of cleaning sheds and the garage and shit. I’m sore. Fire pit, port, cigar.. in 1 deg C weather. It’s nice. Also, playing with the new iphone 13 pro camera. It’s fucking awesome! The night pics are insanely good. Up to 10s exposure.
