Happy Wing Day! Are you a wing connoisseur? Have a favorite sauce? Do you make your own? Do you request all drums or flats when you go out? This was me when I tried to eat some ghost pepper wings that one time. I almost drowned myself in milk. It didn't help. Can you eat one in a bite like a real man? Now I really want some wings and beer. I've got Sam Adams in the fridge and Texas Pete's in the cabinet. I just need to go find some wings to fry up. It is also System Administrator day so thank yours today. @Nettdata , plus all the great work here from @Binary Happy Friday idiots. Try to stay cool this weekend. It's a scorcher here.
Here's a hill I'll die on; Boneless "wings" are better than traditional style. More meat for your money, no gristle and other weird shit and you don't end up with your hands covered in sauce. They're better in every way. Also, ranch > blue cheese
Yeah I have no clue how computers work so this is a biggie. No joke, thanks you guys -- if you still identify as that. One of our directors at work had her fucking portable heater on today. The heat index was above 100 degrees and the hospital down the street had a flashing sign out with warnings on how to avoid head stroke (like, not using your fucking heater. Also, flats all the way.
I have to admit, I no longer identify with sys admins. I’ve moved on to architect and management. Most of the heavy lifting lately (past couple of years?) has been by @Binary I’ve just paid the monthly bill. So thanks, @Binary !
My wife uses her office space heater almost exclusively in the summertime. All the moo-cows complain about the heat and turn the AC down (up?)
by moo cows you mean the heavier ladies? Because in my instance the heater user was definitely on the heavier side, and it was us skinny folk who were considering whether to admit her to the local looney bin for that stunt
Wrong and wrong. They use too much white meat in boneless. Always dry. If they are like the old school McNuggets with cancer balls it’d be alright. Ranch? What type of hick shit is that? I’ve been doing flats only for years. One handed eating method.
As a lot of people do in their careers, I have left most of my sysadmin duties behind me except as a hobby for the few websites I run. I miss some of it but get a little hit from time to time when something breaks in a serious way. Boneless wings and ranch are both awful and you should feel bad for having an objectively wrong opinion. I prefer the flats when I eat wings but I never try to order a specific kind; whatever shows up will be delicious.
I choose not to give a shit about my pronouns. Call me whatever the fuck you want. Whatever you call me will determine how I judge you.
Possibly... but it could also be a rank... or an affectation... or a term of ownership. It really is quite flexible.
Today was a good day. I took the day off to enjoy a 4-day weekend (Monday is a stat), and dug into learning something new. I had all sorts of plans for today, involving cleaning out my shop/garage and restacking some lumber (the very same that knocked out my bottom row of teeth), but last night consisted of me assembling and installing a new bed base/frame, and in the process really fucked up my back. Yay for getting old. So today was a "take it easy" day, and I opted to do some custom 3d printing. I have a telescoping aluminum pole designed to mount satellites on RV's, that I'm looking to use with the Tin Can to get the Starlink dish up and over some lower obstructions. This thing goes to 40'... it's no joke. But I need to fabricate an adapter from that pole to the Starlink dish, so I basically learned how to do some more complex CAD than I ever had. Up until now I've only built simple boxes for breadboards, or printed out shit other people have already made. But this was the first time I've taken a bunch of measurements and built something complex with precision. It had lots of curves, slopes, reliefs, that kind of stuff... that I've never learned how to do. So I ditched Blender and tried out OnShape, which I really, really like. It only took 2 trial prints to get the sizing exact, and I now have a carbon fibre part that does exactly what I need. It's a very cool feeling knowing that you can see the need and build your own fix for it. That, and I had a few drinks while doing so. So yeah... it was a good day.
The fact that you knew what that was (I had to Google it, thinking you were just making words up), speaks volumes... old man.
