I've been looking at my dream boat... the 29' Precision Weld Regal, twin engine jet boat... made an offer on one.

The other boat I made an offer on was a DGS Monster 28' with twin 300's. It's basically a plastic military boat set up for fishing, with twin 300's on it.

    It appeals to me.

A good rule of thumb for any sized outboard is about $110-120 per hp. That v12 verado comes in $128, isn't bad if you need that kinda performance. Someone, somewhere, will put 5 of them on a 45' center console and it will be awesome.

It didn't take long for us to get bit by the bigger boat bug. Like Nett, we're waiting to see what happens with the economy. We'd like a ~28-30' express cruiser style. Something like this
    https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2006-sea-ray-280-sundancer-8405474/

Call me naïve or ignorant but I had no idea that boat fuel economy was *this* bad. There's a little riverside restaurant that we go to that is about a 15-18 min car ride. If we take the boat, it's about $60-70 in gas to go there and back. I can't imagine what a "big" boat uses.

Just to report back from the conversation a couple weeks ago. (Do we have a medical thread?) All prep sucks, but the ClenPiq did its job. From talking to other people, it's much easier/ convenient, apparently. This was my first, so I don't have a comparison. But, I didn't start the first dose until 6pm last night, second dose at 11pm. Small bottles, though you have to follow it the next few hours with water or other clear liquid. Procedure was a nice nap, and don't have to do another for 10 years. w00t

Do you wake up throughout the night to dump? I'm a pretty deep sleeper and somewhat concerned that I won't wake up in time.

You will wake up, lol. It's a fairly visceral urge. Most of the bathroom visits were before the second dose, but I was up 3 times, and last evac was when I got to the doc for my 8:30 appointment.

    Two pro-tips:
    - do not trust a fart
    - get some Dude Wipes or baby wipes. Even the softest toilet paper starts to get a bit abrasive after that many sessions.

But if you look at it, looks like the prop turns 360 degrees too.

edit: sorry not that much, just looked at the first pic and could tell the prop wasn't bolted directly to the main housing.

An outboard Azipod would be insanely cool.

The lower unit turns rather than the whole outboard? I haven't looked at it closely at all. I just went to the site to copy the link. Even in my wildest dreams, it isn't a power option i would pick.

Give it a few years, they'll take all the fun out of docking. Hell, I've never even used a bow thruster. I've wished for one a couple times on windy days.

They've already got joystick docking for twin+ outboards. Each outboard is independently computer controlled... speed, direction (forward/reverse), and yaw.

Doing that, it gives you insane docking precision as if you had bow thrusters.

Jeanneau makes single engine sailboats with 360 joystick docking.

The chicks who are Blue Top Legend use to be legit until they started doing crazy shit for views. I've seen them zip through Haulover when dudes in ~25' boats are stuffing the bow.

    Quick question.

In his song, “Darling Nikki”, Prince sings the following:

“I met her in a hotel lobby masterbating with a magazine”

Now, something occurred to me the other day. Was Nikki reading the magazine and diddling herself with her other hand OR did she have it rolled up and jammed inside her?

Because for some strange reason a very young Walt thought it was the latter, but now the former makes more sense.

Considering that song has a hidden message about Christianity and return of Jesus Christ, I have absolutely no idea.
