My morning drive into work had me witness an intersection, a car and an animal. Right in front of me. It's fucked me up mentally all day. Not sure if that helps.
I had a sort of OK little vacation last weekend and then the almost 4 year old got a terrible plague. Idk where he could have picked it up since we were pretty much outside all weekend. But now we’re struggling to keep his temp under 102* and I had to convince him to eat an ice cream sandwich for dinner since I failed to get any appreciable calories in him all day. So now I also have to reschedule his birthday party. And my husband and I are masking and keeping him separate from the baby because I’m afraid if she gets it we’ll end up in the ER. Did I mention I’m supposed to go back to work on Monday? Booooo.
I know it's weird but I have an impossible to resist compulsion to look up the home value of everywhere we have stayed on Zillow while on this SoCal trip. California real estate is bonkers. It's been super eye opening about how things have spiralled out of control.
It's why I left. I love SoCal, but fuck paying some boomer literally 7x what they paid for their house, even after adjusting for inflation.
Yeah. My husband's great aunt and uncle have a lovely home. It's not a mansion, but it's nice and well maintained. They have done some small updates over the last decade to make it shine. They had totally normal jobs and are retired. She was a school nurse assistant and he was at some kind of full process print marketing company and retired after getting laid off. Their house is a million dollars.
WTF is it with the weather right now? It's going down to 4°C tonight. 4. That's almost freezing... and it's the beginning of June.
Location, Location, location. I actually really like their area but I won't say the town here and blow their spot up. It's almost rural and they live across from a golf course. The congestion of LA is nauseating.
