Look, I'm not trying to kink shame, you do you, but if you feel the need to shove something up your ass buy a toy intended for that. Definitely don't shove an old artillery shell up there. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...tml?ito=native_share_article-nativemenubutton
First of all, what the fuck is the cancer that is that web site. And secondly, I find it hilarious. If people think auto erotic asphyxiation is a rush, squeezing down on an unstable artillery shell has got to be next level. It’s like buttplug roulette.
The Daily Mail is an absolute garbage dump of a newspaper. But sometimes it brings unintentionally funny.
Tuesday night was my first night using a cpap. Went so much better than I anticipated. Slept better than I have for years. Still had about 14 apnea events which is significantly down. My Apple watch shows I was only awake for 5 minutes and that was likely when I had to get up to use the bathroom at 4am. I really thought it would be hard wearing the nose mask, but really only problem had I was the first couple minutes seems a bit heavy on the pressure, but the feeling did go away. Now how many more days until I feel like I slept all night? Woke up still fucking tired.
As good as Tuesday night was, last night was the opposite. Fought all night feeling like I wasn't getting enough breath thru my nose. I did sleep but man it wasn't good sleep. I need to call customer service for the machine because both mornings around 4am it is a straight up wind storm coming out of the machine into my nose. Drying me out and waking my sleepy ass up.
Weird. I have a Resmed Airsense 11, and it's awesome. Temp and humidity control is awesome. What make/model of CPAP do you have? I do know that I had to turn mine up a bit to get it dialed in properly. I found the sleep study I did got me close, but it wasn't right, because my sleep for that night was nowhere near normal.
I hate the temp and humidity control. I run mine at none and none. It condenses in my noise and it just runs out so gross.
Hubs has the same one as Nett but it took him about 9mo to get to the point where he was getting restful sleep. He got it through the VA so getting follow up care was basically impossible. He ended up needing extra large nose pillows which flare his nose a little during use, to prevent leaks. I had to keep kicking Mr B to get him to tinker and follow up about the machine because it seemed to make sleep worse for awhile, and trouble shooting while exhausted sucks. All I know is, I couldn't take another night hearing him choke to death over and over again. It works amazingly well for him now. Good luck.
I have this exact same model. They set it up as Ramp Time Auto, Climate Control to Auto, Tube Temp to auto. Last night I had so much condensation coming out of the nose mask. I am still averaging 5 apnea events per hour which if you multiply by the hours in the mask have shown no improvement over wearing no mask at all. Unless my math isn't how math is done in terms of a cpap machine.
You know it's a cold winter when the temps are in the high 20"s ( Freedom Units ) and it feels like a warm day. And now more of that arctic air is on its way so this weekend it's gonna be back in the single digits and negatives.
I have ramp time off (when it’s on it’s on), tube temp 68-72, and manual humidity set at 2. If you’re getting condensation I’d recommend turning up the tube temp and lowering the humidity setting.
No kidding. Took the dog to daycare this morning and it was only -6°C so didn't even bother with a jacket... "wow, it's warm out" (compared to the normal -20°C in the mornings), so just wore a hoodie.
This is correct. Also, I’ve seen more condensation when the room is cooler, typically when the A/C is on. If you keep your house cool at night in the winter it will have the same effect. Take Nett’s advice on adjusting, then readjust when your bedroom is warmer.
The provider called me this morning and I asked about switching to a full mask that covers my mouth as well. He didn't think it was necessary because my numbers look good to them as they can see them remotely. He did suggest increasing the humidity and tube temp so about what you are suggesting. He had me put the tube temp at 84 and the humidity to 5. House is set to 65F at night so not sure if that comes into play.
My house is set to 66, and while the higher tube temp makes sense, increasing the humidity does not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Oh well... you can play with it and see what works.. just know that it will work once you get it dialed.
I also find it uncomfortable when the air is too hot at night... I like cooler air. Having it set at 84 would make it feel like you're in a jungle.. not sure I'd like that, personally.
