    This is Celsius, isn’t it?

I was trying to figure out why it’d be so much colder when you’re not that much further north and it just occurred to me.

I'm thinking at those temps, does it really matter if its Celsius or Fahrenheit?

The closer you get to -40 the less it matters.

We made it through that storm without losing power or any other difficulties, unlike many others in the area. Our electricity has always been very reliable in this house. We're only a couple of miles from a small hydro dam, where we get our power. Perhaps that's why power outages are so rare for us.

We actually had a ton of fun with the mini jeep. Most of the ice is still here, exception is the areas that recieve sun nearly the entire day, and the road between here and town still had huge patches of solid ice when I was out yesterday.

The pic below is shortly after the freezing rain started. My outer layer of clothing was coated with ice. We tried to go out and have the same fun the next day and it was too slick to do it. It was so slick, I didn'thave the traction to get very much speed. If the jeep slowed at all, the tube run into the back or pass it and wrap the rope around the axle, and we would just slide until we stopped.

It's snowing now, but there must have been some shift in the forecast. We went from 6-10" predicted, down to 1-3". Took my wife and kid to visit family that is now supposed to get much more snow than us, so he can sled and play.

I came back home to finish replacing a garden tub that we have never used, with a giant, zero-threshold tile shower in the master bathroom. Once I'm done with that, I will replace the vanity with a wheelchair accessible one, remove the existing, small shower stall and get a stackable washer and dryer to put in its location, move the toilet to the opposite wall, and frame/finish a linen closet in the alcove the toilet sits in currently.

You have way more energy than I do this weekend.

My big task is to reorganize my spice cupboards.

My spice/rub addiction has gotten a bit out of hand, and is now taking up 2 full sized over counter cupboards.

I bought a bunch of slide out spice racks and glass jars that fit in them and am now repackaging the existing stuff and labeling jars.

All while watching TV and drinking some spicy caesars and playing with the dog.

And ice can be a bitch.

Mom slipped earlier this week and we had to take her to get Xrays of her shoulder. They were afraid of a ball and socket fracture but thankfully it was just a bad sprain and some bruising.

My 3yr old is currently napping on my shoulder.

He drives me insane 29hrs a day, but I'm going to miss moments like this when he's older.

I sprained my ankle and knee this past week. I was feeling 80 percent better but I twisted my leg again in the driveway and putting weight on my leg for any amount of time fatigues it with pain. UGH.

That sucks... when you're almost better and then NOPE, start over. Sorry to hear it dude.

In other news, I made a new type of stew yesterday that I'm blown away by.

Reduced a bottle of red wine way down to a thick red sauce, beef broth, insanely browned beef cubes, then just slow cooked it for hours with allspice, cloves, and sumac. Never used sumac before but was intrigued after seeing a couple of videos.

Needless to say, it came out amazingly good. Had a friend over and he was blown away.

It was a best guess for something new, and it came out amazingly well.

Today had it with some rice for lunch, and it was even better.

Gotta love that kind of experimentation that works out.

The older I get the more braces I own. I also learned you do not stop wearing the brace until your actually healed. Knee brace, ankle brace, back brace, shoulder brace, arm sling, tennis elbow strap... are all in the closet somewhere. I actually need to get multiples of upgraded knee braces for riding. Something like a pair of EVS or Leatt braces.

I love cured sumac. I have an easy salad that's just a bunch of dill, a bunch of parsley, a diced cucumber, the arils of one pomegranate, and then a dressing of olive oil and a tablespoon of sumac.

Everyone loves it but nobody knows what sumac is/tastes like so they think its some kind of special dressing instead of just one scoop of spice out of a jar.

In other news, this somehow happened this weekend.

Don’t ask how, because I’m just as “wtf” as you might be.

(Apparently I missed a wide open 2 car garage with this shot from 30’ away… go me!)

It will now mock me until Spring.

It will mock you for about a week, then we finally go above zero during the day.

    Finally.
