Yeah they are the new evolution in belts. I got one and love how you never have to worry about being between holes, too loose or too tight. Just perfect fit every time. My teeth latch did come out once but it is a 15 dollar Chinese Amazon buy. Snapped it back in and it’s been fine since.

I’m still in the process of throwing out a bunch of the stuff we’ve accumulated over the years. Among some old papers, I found a printed version of a thread from TMMB. It was a thread started by Tucker called The Summer Barbecue thread, from the summer of 2006.

It had some interesting recipes and tips, and I wanted to save it, but this being 20 years ago I didn’t know how other than to print it. I’m tossing it out, but it was fun to look back on. The only regular members (these days) here to have posted on that thread, other than myself , were Nettdaddy (a post about plumbing natural gas lines directly into grills, and steaks) and Kubla (a post about Fat Tire beer).

It's kind of scary having people help with your more intimate or chaotic life choices.

I'm having my mother in law go collect eggs for the first time in.... A week or more? I don't know what the fuck is going on out there. I know the pond filter needs to be cleaned for sure. The coop is probably all shitted up and I have no idea where the water buckets are being dumped. Probably in the run so it's likely super muddy out there.

I don't even believe in God and I'm over here doing the sign of the cross like it's a tick. Or maybe she'll just fix all my problems. She did get my kid to clean their room so there is hope.

I have also all but begged my mommy to come out after our Cali trip. My neighbor is a saint and came over and did my dishes and emptied out a cooler that had fish in it but she can't be my live in caretaker.

Oh my God. She just came in because she couldn't get the coop door open due to "hillbilly engineering" or something. I don't know anything about that....

I'm trying to think when I joined TMMB. I heard about it from my older brother and I think it had to be around that time. Maybe a few years later but I didn't post a lot. There were so many active members that I used it for entertainment and not the idiotic family that we have now.

I found the RMMB because of the RedHighHeels thread after leaving The Phat Phree (which went defunct). I found Max’s first book by accident and the message board was
    Mentioned in the book.

I miss certain aspects of the old thread, it had great mods like Savage Henry and Captain Capitol, but it also had some mods who were excruciatingly arrogant and condescending, and they never fucked off.

Im glad this successor board was started by a rando like Chater rather than one of Max's lackeys. Otherwise we'd be forced to discuss the merits of learning Karate to fight off home invaders or what natural water containment system is best in a post-apocalypse.

Let’s go beyond that— how about forcing members to write 1000-word apology letters in a PM to avoid being banned for disagreeing with the board’s “royalty”. Or mass-banning people for proving you wrong, like You-Know-Who did when people proved you could make a you-know-what take off of a running thig-a-ma-jig.

I missed out on the RMMB wahoo threads though, which were probably the best thing that message board came up with. Back when things like Jackass and punching down was funny, that was some uproarious shit. Funnier than Tucker, Maddox, Phat Phree or any of that post-Y2K online edge humour.

And here I thought that I was the only one who missed out on all the good stuff.

It appears a bunch of us joined in '06.

The chain of discovery went as follows: I stumbled onto intellectualwhores.com some time in late '05, and they had a link to Maddox. After reading through most of his catalog, he mentioned being on a book tour with Tucker, promoting "The Alphabet of Manliness."

I decided to see what this Max fella was all about, and some of his stuff was damn funny.
After reading through most of what he had posted on the website, I decided to see what his message board was all about, and the rest is history.

Those were simpler times, to say the least.

I joined in university which would of been 03/04 or 04/05. I found it through the Tardblog. I enjoyed reading, but never replied much.

Somehow I'm being made to feel older than I actually am... I first found the TMMB in 02/03 in the 2nd(?) instance of the board via fark.com My favorite threads were the weekly caption contests from the most random pictures.

That's when I joined, before Belligerence and Debauchery was published. I did not use fiveslide back then, I was Tripp Walls, or something like it, because that was the name from my fake ID. I think Nettdata and I might have talked some car stuff back then after he joined. I don't recall ever PMing any of the rest of you. There was a lot of activity on that board back then.

So, my username was actually 'given' to me by Tucker's token black friend on the old board. I forget what my original username was back when I first joined whichever iteration I signed up for, but long story short, I started dating one of the prominent posters of the original board that TM constantly fought with, and even thought they fought constantly, his supposed best friend was also really communicative with her. He then would just refer to me as 'jdoogie' any time they talked, asking how I was and whatnot, and so the next time the board came back around, he automatically gave me that user ID, and so it stuck ever since.

I don’t remember how I found RMMB, what my account name was, etc. And there were times I forgot about it only to return and have missed a lot.
    Kind of like here.

And then suddenly it was gone.

Some of it was funny, but I like TiB better.

Just had a cop knock on my door to alert me he was about to shoot a rabid fox in the yard. That will get your blood flowing on a Saturday morning.

I found TMMB spring break of 06. Remember it very clearly. My older brother had given me the book and he showed me the heir blueberry thread when I went with him to Miami. I posted on it a bunch that week under his name, racked up a lot of red dots, and made my own when I got back. He never really posted but lurked until it was shut down. I remember I was in Florida with him again in October of 09 when the RMMB went dark. Since he started closing it down by just banning people I didn’t know what was going on. I found a thread under his movie’s imdb where someone mentioned all the “heavy hitters” were being banned and I was listed as one. That struck me as weird hearing internet strangers refer to me like that. Been here going on 16 years. God nobody explains to you how fast time moves once you’re out of school.
