Picture from inside the sub (found on Reddit): I’ve had a lot of MRI’s, and I’ve learned to get somewhat comfortable in them. I cannot imagine that for multiple hours though. This picture alone makes me deeply unsettled. The thought of them being alive inside of that thing, with no clue if they’ll survive….. holy fucking shit. I can only hope for their sake that death was quick and painless

according to people who had been on the trip before, the advice was actually to not eat or drink much before the trip so as to reduce the chance of nature calling. So you get a bunch of hungry, dehydrated billionaires in a hyper claustrophobic space for several hours at minimum. My first thought, aside from "I would straight up punch someone for farting," is how horrible a place that would be to have a panic attack.

In all seriousness, though, I kind of expect that they suffered a severe and instantaneous implosion so they don’t have to worry about any of that.
I found it interesting that the company advertised how it's "hull-monitoring system" somehow improved its safety. Wouldn't any issues with that hull essentially mean that death was going to follow? Like what are you gonna do if you are alerted that there's an issue, go out and fix it? You can't even open the sub from the inside!
Sounds like the person that was supposed to inspect the sub was denied access to information about the viewport, which was not certified to withstand pressures at the Titanic’s depth and the guy who financed the whole thing didn’t want to pay for the one that could withstand the pressure down to 4000m.
At that level, that kind of failure would be instantaneous and the passengers would not even know it happened. Instantly squished to crab food.
