In other news, my cousin’s wife sang the Canadian anthem at the Jays game today in Toronto.

    She killed it.

National Anthems seem like they're rarely done right, so that's awesome for her!! People always try to over-sing it and make the song about them. It isn't. You're using your talents to show respect for the country, so be respectful.

Wasn't it fergie who did the US National Anthem like she was singing "happy birthday mr president"?

*edit* Nevermind. Found it. Literally the first thing that pops up when you type "fergie" into youtube

I was talking to a girl at work the other day and some guy with a man bun walked up and told her "I'll be outside by your whip."

It was so cringy I wanted to punch him in the heart. Instead I just laughed. And laughed. And laughed. Then he went away.

I assume to go stand next to her whip and contemplate what a fucking idiot he is in other people's eyes.

The best rendition of the United States National Anthem I hear every year are done by the local high school bands before football games. The bands in this area are usually very well rehearsed, they all have their own little spin on it and most are finished in a minute to a minute fifteen. I borderline dread whenever a team trots out someone to sing the Anthem.

    Nett, glad she killed it.

Wife and I are thinking of renting a houseboat for a weekend.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been on a boat. Anyone know if mosquitoes are a problem in the middle of the lake? I know the shoreline would be miserable.

Where do you live that you only need one can? I stash multiple, in several places for immediate access, along with anti-itch cream for the assholes who take OFF as a challenge.

Well that’s disappointing. I was hoping the middle of a big lake would be different.

I really hate bug spray so I’ll setup some strategically placed fans around the boat to keep them away. I’ve always found that works better anyways.

In related news, I gave up the war against mosquitos in my yard. I’ve tried everything- dynatraps, citronella, thermacell, etc. Nothing works except bug spray.

I could buy a fogger and do like the pros, but considering it’s carcinogenic properties, I’ll pay some kid minimum wage to do it for me.

Sorry, you misunderstood. I meant it in a more literal way. The cans are small so why not pack one?

If you are in a hot and humid place, there are mosquitoes everywhere. I think that would be less in the middle of a lake, but come on... They fly. And they reproduce on water. They fly towards food sources that they can detect by gas. So if you look tasty they are coming for you.

I had pretty mixed results with my thermacell units. It might work out better for you on your boat where hopefully there will be less around in general. I think a thermacell and a can or two a spray will do you good.

Relief efforts in third world countries against malaria tend to use mosquito Nets as a first line of defense. I don't know how your boat is set up or what you will be doing out there or for how long, but maybe a net would be helpful in your situation. It would at least allow you to get away with not using spray.

We used to have horrible mosquitoes in the yard. We finally bought and set up a bat house on a post and mosquitoes are pretty nonexistent now. It has worked incredibly amazing, and none of them have given us any problems, even with kids running around the yard.

This is the one I bought:

They probably won't live on the open water, but the houseboat itself will still probably be lousy with them.

Use a few bottles of this. Just attach to your hose, spray on the yard, and let it dry. Works for a good while (or until the next multi-day monsoon). I'd all but given up too until I found some Cutter spray at lowes and gave it a shot. The mosquitoes in Texas are big enough you can effectively hunt them with shotguns, and they still want no part in that shit.

Yeah. It's possible, that it's just going to be an online archive of all of his previous work, which is not currently available. But, it seems that this sort of teaser announcement would be kind of cruel if it weren't to promote new content. Here's hoping.
