That Ryobi seems like a really good deal.

I'm an amateur handyman - I can do just about anything given some YouTube tutorials, and have done a lot of projects from roofing to flooring to drywall, but am not a pro at anything. I've used impact drivers before but not a lot and not as a daily tool. I'd like to replace my enormous and heavy Rigid kit whose NiMH batteries are about dead.

How important is a variable speed driver vs. the one that was linked? E.g.: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-1...river-Tool-Only-with-Belt-Clip-P237/206588778

I'm in an apartment and not planning to do much heavy home maintenance, just need a trustworthy tool for home projects. I'm downsizing in a lot of areas of my life, so I'm curious if I can actually swap out my drill and 90 degree impact driver for one of these. I do small projects, small home improvement things, occasionally need a drill for shade tree car maintenance, etc.

It'll be fine. Variable speed is a very nice feature to have, especially when starting/finishing a screw, etc, but it's not the end of the world.

Pretty sure I have a variable speed. It'll stop your (my) dumbass from boring a 1" hole into wet wood and burning your motor out. For normal projects, the feature probably doesn't help that much. I bought it because it was $10 cheaper at the time then the comparable non variable speed.

That drill feature might be good for cars so that you do not overtighten accidentally. Maybe.

If anyone isn't watching the NFL game right now, you should definitely watch the NFL game right now.

It's 38-28 (Rams-Vikings) and the 3rd Q isn't even over yet. Makes me forget if this is a football game or a basketball game the way this scoring has been.

Of course there is going to be scoring. The way the rules are now the defense are only allowed to be moving chicanes for the offense to have to run around.

I had the displeasure of stumbling upon a video. It was all shit and puke. I guess some kid at a private school got tired of being bullied, to get revenge spiked food (or drink I'm unclear) with horse tranquilizer. Old or not, true or not....It. Was. Unpleasant.
