    Border patrol on the Canadian border has to be one of most unfulfilling law enforcement roles in the world. Not many border jumpers up there. Probably see more Americans crossing for a brief shopping trip to get better beer, than anything else.

    Yeah. Go to Niagara Falls and you’ll get to live in a Canadian motel under 24/7 house arrest for the next four years like everyone else. All border hotels around here are filled with asylum-seekers. It’s real fun, I hear.

    Not to get too serious in this thread, but shouldn't those people be moving out, since the government quit funding the asylum seekers hotel stay? Has something changed since the end of September?

    Owners certainly don’t like being forced into turning their businesses into makeshift slum apartments. It’s not like having a revolving door-tourist business— they wreck the rooms and they wreck the property.

    Yeah, pretty sure the Canadian Government is no longer funding asylum seeker's rent/hotel/etc as of the end of Sept... so it'll be interesting to see what happens as the fallout of that.

    But that's probably more for the serious thread, not the REAL thanksgiving thread.
