HAPPY CANADIAN THANKSGIVING! I'm sorry, my 'Merican is showing. I even googled holidays and nothing came up.Damned internet searches being tailored to me. What do you folks have planned? I hope you all have a wonderful day with your family and friends. Try not the catch the rona while you're enjoying the day. Less importantly....it's moldy cheese day. No, not that mozzarella that grew fur in your fridge drawer. More like brie, bleu, gorgonzala or Stilton. Brie, oh how I love thee. Too bad I am off dairy. I can fantasize about pairing a nice creamy brie with a fruity red tonight in my dreams. Get fancy and get crunk, Idiots... cuz it is FRIDAY again. This is missing a nice boule of crusty sourdough but otherwise, this spread is worthy of holiday eatin'. This is what I get for a GIS of "cheese porn." Spoiler Don't do what I did. Otherwise you'll find a weird amount of dicks slapped on wedges of cheese. Happy Friday, y'all!
Damnit. Sorry, so sorry! (practicing my Canadian here, am I doing it right?) I even googled holidays and nothing came up. Fixed up the OP.
Good point. I have a distant cousin that lives in Edmonton. Seems like reason enough to have some turkey this weekend.
I am too much of a money whore. I get paid the stat no matter what, and if i work it i get double time on top of that. So I call it a triple day when I work, it is hard to say no to that. Especially because everyone else is off, so my job has basically nothing to do.
I get double time on holidays but I never work thanksgiving week, by product of having a supervisor who lays out every Christmas. So far I have 4 birds and a ham to smoke that week, gottta stock up on the Kingsford.
Probably because it knows it's going to be shoved into a turkey after a chicken gets shoved up its ass.
Yeah... good quality lump is a serious game changer. I lucked into a local supplier that I got 150 lbs from for stupid cheap. He's a local sawmill that makes his own charcoal from the off-cuts and scraps.
Fromager D'affinois is my favorite kind of soft cheese. It's like Brie, but 10x's better. Goes great with crackers and Italian dried meats.
Nice! Kingsford is fine for grilling as it is completely ashed over before using and no longer produces that chemical smell. If I'm smoking I use the minion method and there is definitely a difference with a natural product.
