    It's a faux rib rack made up of compacted pork shavings off the butcher's floor. Good thing they dunk it in BBQ sauce to disguise its appearance, it's the swine equivalent of particle board. Plus pickles!

    And, a bit off topic, I found out today the Alabama Bar has rejected my application, saying they didn't receive my degree certification. NYU disagrees (and UPS confirms delivery). How hard is it to get admitted to practice law in Canada with an American degree?

    I'm visiting the parents beef farm, drank a 12 of Moosehead for Canada Day, Happy belated Canada Day!
    I'd rather have a case of Unibroue's La Fin du Monde, but there's no way in hell that a farm town vendor will ever sell it, too good for them.

    I've got a family doctor that I go to. If I want to make an appointment to see her that isn't an emergency, it takes roughly four to six weeks to actually get into her office and that's booking an appointment. I tried going in because I was amazingly sick and the receptionist told me that I have to wait six weeks.

    I can go to a drop in center and it only takes three to six hours.

    It's why I drink at night.

    They played alright, but I don't think they deserved to win. They missed three PK's this game, and two were right at the Uruguay goalie. Although I still hold a grudge against them from 4 years ago when they played the US and took that blatant dive in the box that resulted in a PK. But I did enjoy their theatrics this game, all the shin grabbings and being carried off the fields only to jog back into play like nothing happened. They definitely had the most choreographed fake injuries out of all the games I've seen, even Germany...made me chuckle a little.

    Speaking of healthcare, I just watched the documentary Gasland.

    This guy went across the country interviewing people and doing a little investigative work on the process of drilling for natural gas and all the environmental and health impacts it can have. I'm hoping the film was full of shit. Then again when people light their fucking faucets on fire you pretty much know there is a fucking problem.

    I guess I'm just a little worried, because they drilled a well right behind my dad's house like 8 years ago. I'm talking 25 yards away from the house and only about 100 yards from the well. Whatever. Bring on the cancer. I don't wanna see this country in the turmoil of a fourth Twilight movie anyway.

    That just means your family doctor sucks.

    If I had a problem something like you've described, and called my Dr.'s office, they'd get me in the same day... probably within a couple hours.

    It's happened twice, and the one time he couldn't, he sent me to a colleague who shuffled his day around to see me.

    I had to go to the emergency room a while ago because I had a lung infection and couldn't breathe right, and 2 days later I got a call from him, and he bitched me out for not calling him and letting him know what was going on.

    He then booked me in the next day for a follow-up to be sure that things were going well.

    Needless to say, my family doctor ROCKS. Took me a couple tries to find one that actually gave a shit, but I'm glad I did.

    And I'm 2 bottles of wine into the day, and in a really good mood.

    And just starting to watch The Shining again... what an awesome flick.

    This presumes that you have a choice. Some provinces, there are damned few doctors taking new patients. When you put your name on a list and wait three months for the Meet'n'Greet, and find you don't click, it can be a daunting task to start hunting around and waiting three more months.

    The Shining was a fucking awesome movie; Jackie boy was awesome in it.

    On another note, I'm making some lasagna, drinking a beer, and coordinating plans for tonight.

    Possibly going to Biloxi to gamble and drink until all hours of the morning...Hooray!!
