A melodic tour-de-force. I can't eat an egg salad sandwich without humming their catchy tune.

Without spurring on the whole US v. Canada debate, I've read that in parts of Canada, McDonalds offers a lobster sandwich meal. I was just curious if anyone up there had seen or tried this and how it was? I mean....lobster from McDonalds? I can't imagine.

I imagine buying and eating a lobster sandwich from McDonald's would be about the same as buying and wearing used underwear from Salvation Army.

I've never seen anything "lobster" at McDonalds... turns out it's only a seasonal Maritime thing in Canada.

That's actually kind of promising, as it sounds like it might actually be REAL lobster.

Unfortunately, it might be "real lobster" in the same way that McNuggets are made of "real chicken"... and be comprised of only the left-over scraps from lobster processing plants.

    No thanks.

The only reason I've tried the McLobster is because I worked at a McDonalds for a short while as a teenager and we would get the leftovers free.

Honestly it's not bad. It's hard to screw up lobster and mayo on a roll.

Edit: This is going back 10 years or more but as I recall, yes it was real lobster with decent sized chunks.

That had it here in London years and years ago and just like the McRib, I thought it was excessively and disgustingly gross. It was called McLobster (real original) and it made the Filet O'Fish look VERRRRY palatable by comparison. Opinions may very, but I think you have to be out of your mind to like the McLobster or fucking McRib.

I recall McD's offering this periodically in it's New England franchises when I lived there. I never had it, but as I recall, it was similar to a lobster roll (a popular item in the New England states).

Re: WDT: All hail maple syrup, toques, and the All-Mighty USA!!!

Fact. In Maine it is a seasonal entity, and surprisingly very good. Real lobster with decent size chunks of claw, as opposed to some questionable finely ground lobster puree on a bun that I've seen at other places. I assumed the McDonald's lobster roll was just a Maine/New England thing actually.

The McRib was bad huh? I can't picture it any other way..

I have busted out an old knock-off Holland soccer jersey that my oma bought me. The one nice thing about being a Dutch soccer fan is that there is a minimum of bandwagon hopping. The bad thing is the constantly never being good enough. Nonetheless, the sound of angry Portuguese is music to my ears.

I've tried the McRib once or twice and didn't find it all that bad. While it wasn't anything just amazing, and it had those same terrible McDonalds onions they love to throw on everything, it was alright.

I never had a McRib because it looked bad. Anything that is formed and has things made to resemble bones inside meat cannot be good. I saw that BK has some rib product now. Anyone been brave enough to try them?

B.K's have gone under mass closings up here. There's hardly a single one left in my city. The general concensus? Everybody finds it just plain gross.

I've NEVER liked Burger King for any reason. It's always tasted like nuked leftovers, and if it's your "dunk food" you obviously hate yourself and are fueling something dangerous.

Maybe Canada is just trying to get rid of fast food in general. I mean let's not beat around the bush here, the shit is poison. I worked at McD's as a kid, I know first hand. Taco Bell and KFC had to unite as one restaurant to stay is business up here. I know that's not the case in other parts.

Off topic: YEEEEAH Holland. You just pissed off about 1/5 of the population of downtown London. Kudos.

The best McDonalds meal ever was the McPizza hands down.

Spam-like product, pressed to look like ribs, covered in sauce. If I'm going to pack in some fast food calories, it sure as hell isn't going to be a "pressed pork-type product."

I love seeing my facebook feed lighting up with guys with extremely distinctly non-Brazilian names whining about how painful it is to see Brazil lose, and more incongruously, how their goalkeeper is the best there is, and so forth. And then, I went to buy some cheese wearing my very orange soccer jersey and the Portuguese man vending me said cheese mentioned how he wanted a European team to win more than Brazil. Well done. It almost makes me believe in divine punishment.

To quote the great Sam Kinison on the McRib, "let's put shit on a bun and see if we can get people to eat it."
