    Went fishing from the local pier and got skunked.

    It was super relaxing for 30 minutes, then it was an asian invasion, and the dock was swarming with 100 asian people each with 2 poles.

    Got all the yardwork done, went grocery shopping, put together a tuna & pasta salad to bring to a BBQ tomorrow, seasoned some chicken leg quarters to grill for dinner tonight and got some mighty fine looking corn on the cob to go along with it. I think I'll put off studying until tomorrow so I can go take a short nap and leave it to the Mrs. to take the girls to the movies tomorrow. Yeah, that works.

    Heading to Yuk Yuks later tonight to catch my buddy Gris perform his first ever weekend guest spot at the big-boy club. He is brilliantly funny and miles ahead of where he should be after only 4 months in the biz*. Watch out for him kids - he's gonna be a star!

    *I worked in the comedy industry for 20 years, including running a development program. I know my shit and this is my professional opinion, not my fan boi opinion (although I'm totally a fan boi too)

    And yeah... my issue was a mild infection coupled with a blockage that caused things to get backed up a bit. (I've been fighting some sort of lung infection thing for a few months now).

    Seems that I had some sort of "kinked hose" thing happen as a result of "fun time" that caused a lack of flow of something or other.

    Talked to my dad today, and he's had it more than a few times, so it seems like it's something genetic with how we're plumbed.

    As to why it hurt, I have no idea. It just did. The doc did seem surprised at the level of pain though, so who knows.

    Joy.

    All good today, though.

    Just finished making some stir-fry for my son and I (that rhymes!) after a day of running around;
    we had reservations to go on a kayaking trip at the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge, but once we got there (a 50 mile drive), we were told that the kayaking trips were cancelled because of wind conditions. Now, I don't really know much about kayaking, but that seemed like a lame excuse to me.
    So my son and I explored the rest of the refuge, saw an alligator, a rabbit, a run-over armadillo, and a snake. We tried exploring a bayside beach at the refuge, but when we sunk into mud up to our knees, we decided to go elsewhere, since we weren't prepared for that.
    We ended up going to a public pool in a town on the way back home.
    We had a fun time on the way though, playing road games and making up lame "Knock knock" jokes the entire way.

    For some reason known only to drunk 18-year-olds, someone within a two-block radius of my house is letting off fireworks right now. In the drizzling rain. FYI - dogs LOVE fireworks. Oh yeah. Gonna be a good sleep tonight, I think. /sarcasm.

    So... power outages are fun when you bartend at a hotel. All of a sudden everyone gets their looting mentality on and "drinks are free, right?!!". As bad as that was for me, I feel worse for my manager, whose car was stolen this morning, and this is how he had to end the night.

    Drinking Moerlein Nutty Irishman stout while watching Ron White uncensored on Comedy Central, so the night isn't so bad.

    So i've been home for two weeks and I already fucking hate it. Never anything to do and never anyone to do it with.

    not to mention I still get those weird jealously feelings whenever my ex of far too long ago tells me she's hooked up with some guy. What the fuck? Why is that still happening.
