Anybody? I mean, Spoiler: Spoiler why didn't somebody just sniper Negan when he was flapping his gums?
Sorry fam, I stopped watching after the beginning of last season. Just couldnt do it anymore. Does it still suck, or is it worth watching again?
I thought it was worth watching. But, it's completely different than last season - not necessarily better, as I need another episode to really tell. But, lots of gunfire and explosions, the cast isn't scattered in 12 locations, oh, and zombies.
This first episode was all over the place. Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't figure out the timeline of all the scenes they kept showing and it was driving me nuts. I think I keep watching just to see how far they can take it.
Outside of that I thought it was a pretty good episode. I wonder if they're going to pull a time jump?
I agree. I got the "motivation speech" jumps, but the old man Rick ones were weird. I read something about how they threw those in to keep the fans guessing.."maybe Rick was in a coma this whole time...maybe the zombie apocalypse is all a dream"...it still was dumb.
Do you really want to know? I havent seen it and I can tell just based on your descriptions what going to happen.
I’m not gonna spoiler anything - sorry if you’re reading this. I binged the whole series this summer. Rush, your question is pretty much my issue with the entire show: why don’t they just kill ANYONE when they’re standing there yapping?!? Negan, Gregory, whoever. You have thirty guns on them, just unload.
Bullets are precious, guns were hard for them to come by, but by all means, rain lead for 5 minutes through some windows for some reason. Was Hans Gruber standing there saying, "Shoot. The. Glass."?
I imagine that every writers meeting for the last two years has involved somebody saying “hey guys, you know what would really create drama? If two characters argue about whether to kill someone or let them live!” Also, I like that any time Rick loses the upper hand, his hair cries. What a confusing mess of an episode this week.
I felt like the creative team was like, Producer: "hey, fans don't like it when we get all contemplative and the pace slows down. Let's make sure there's lots of shooting, instead." Writer: "But, this doesn't make sense here." Producer: "Doesn't matter. Just have them shoot something. Oh, and make Morgan invincible." Writer: "Got it."
I’m 99% sure I know how this is gonna go down, I just don’t know if it’ll be in the mid-season break or the finale. Depends on how long they want to have Ezekiel blabber on and have everyone else shoot off a whole shitload of guns. Spoiler: My prediction - includes comic spoilers Negan and Gabriel face certain death. Negan “confesses” to Gabriel to atone for his sins. They are miraculously saved, and then the huge drama is a “let him live/kill him now” argument between the Gabriel/Jesus and Morgan/Tara groups. The real “dramatic” representation of the argument will be between Rick, Daryl, Maggie, and Carol. Rick’s hair will cry and Daryl will spit out all of his words, Maggie will make that face where she looks like something smells like shit, Carol will do that weird “smile frown” face, and it’ll probably end with Negan living, because even though I haven’t read them I know he’s still alive in the comics, and also it’s Jeffery Dean Morgan.
I haven't read the comics, so that seems reasonable. I offer one comment: Spoiler: Spoiler? I think the fight over Negan's life is somehow going to be between Rick & Daryl, which is interesting because they both want to kill him. Last episode was a bit of a rambling mess. And, I can't tell if I'm tired of Ezekial, or I just saw the same speech so many times, it felt old. They showed it in the "next week" preview, the Talking Dead clip, the lead in to the show, etc. It took all the drama out if it for me. Also, what's up with the trash people?
The only down side is Spoiler: ugh that bite is going to play out over like three or four episodes. We'll get a flashback episode, a Morgan by himself episode (like, where was he last night? and, they have to set up his cross over for Fear TWD), and then we'll get a CORRuLLLLL episode where he gets to impart life lessons on everybody. Mostly, I liked last night's episode, but man, it didn't need to be 90 minutes. They could've cut all those dramatic, twangy music, overlapping fades of character closeups. Whatever.
Negan is one of the most shallow characters so far. Dude only cares about Carl when anybody else wouldn’t have caused him to even bat an eye? What the fuck man...
He may be shallow, but he can get some batteries and shit. Dude had a mic and PA system in the zombie apocalypse.
Rush, you still watching? Do you even care? Any time the “previously on...” intro shows the garbage people, I groan in anticipation of a stupid episode.
