Frankly, all of this goes to show how a sheltered childhood focused on one goal doesn't allow you to mature properly. He clearly has the emotional maturity of a 15 year old boy who just recently discovered the majesty that is slutty girls. And, also, this should remind people that just because someone is an exceptional athlete (movie star, singer, etc) doesn't make them a role model for anything but their talent unless they prove otherwise.
This is a little presumptuous don't you think? Dude is in his mid-30s and was already on his way to legendary status 10 years ago. Hot chicks didn't just start throwing themselves at him this year, nor did he just recently begin fucking them. He is one of the richest and most influential athletes of all time. Shit, he is one of the richest and most influential people of all time. As far as a the role model stuff goes, the dude changed the face of golf. He's an active philanthropist. He's heavily involved with various kids organizations. His infidelity doesn't negate that. It's not even related as far as I'm concerned. Is it wrong that he cheated on his wife (and kids)? Absolutely, but your assumption that it is all deep rooted in his childhood is ridiculous. Does his charity work seem a little saccharine now? Maybe, but a good cause is still better than no cause at all.
I'm not 100% on this but from what I remember, he had a very long term girlfriend who he dropped for Elin. That coupled with the the fact that it seems these affairs started after his father died, it just feels like someone who was just overwhelmed by the situation once he was on actually on his own.
Now he'll have a whole different slew of things to be overwhelmed with. He's sane and perfectly capable of making rational decisions. He chose not to. I have no sympathy for him however, the fact that this is national news angers me because when all is said and done and exploited, it's none of our business. I wonder how he'll be treated once he hits the course again. I wonder how the crowd will react, if at all and how the other players will. It's no secret before Tiger golf was known widely as a rather stuffy sport for "older men".

Since most people that pay to watch golf are philandering rich old men without much else to do in their lives other then chase hookers and cheat on their wifes, I imagine he'll be given a standing ovation. I can't imagine a guy who strayed like he has will ever be happy with a relationship with his wife if she is really taking this approach: "Calling the shots"? really? would anyone really expect that to work? I'm not going to get into some sort of unqualified psycho-analysis, but I know I would certainly be miserable trying to live with a wife that is looking to exact power in the relationship through ultimatums. If she really beat him up with a golf club, I think that would be grounds for divorce enough for me, even if I was a man-whore.

Seemed like an alright guy, but I could understand how that much pressure on you can skew your outlook on life. Also, monogamy for life is so 1900's... I like how Big Corp has tapped Big Media to start calling his actions an illness and depicting him as being "sick" with a sexual addiction to try to save him and remarket him after he makes amends in the near future. They're framing the issue with questions like "How could a man with a beautiful wife, family and successful career be sleeping with all of these women if he doesn't have a mental health problem?"
My biggest issue about this whole story is how no one is looking at the positive gains for the sport of golf. Tiger has proved that playing golf can rake you in just as much pussy as playing football or basketball. It's none of my business what he does or doesn't do but I just want to ask, after reading his list of alleged mistresses, why do athletes continually rake in the trashiest of the trash?
