    If yall really do end up doing this thing, and you are one of the ones who would be driving into New Orleans from the north via I-55, I'd definitely recommend making a stop here either on the way there or back:

    Ask Noland- I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that this place has the best thin fried catfish you'll ever have. And if you choose a time where the deck is open, they have a badass frozen margarita as well.

    Hell, even if you are coming in from the east or west via I-10, its worth the extra 15-20 minutes it'd cost you to detour. Just take the I-12 split (In Baton Rouge if coming from the west, Slidell from the east), and hop on I-55 South at Hammond. Take the Manchac exit 20 miles south of there.

    Hell, if its during the weekend that you stop, I may even be there, as Pass Manchac (the waterway connecting Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas) is where my camp is located.

    General Butler was in command of the Union forces that took control of New Orleans (along with Admiral Farragut) after Fort Jackson farther South was lost. Shameful capitulation is a charitable term for New Orleans' part in the Civil War.

    Evidently the ladies of New Orleans, having more backbone than their men, had taken to spitting on Union soldiers. General Butler took offense to this and General Order 28 was the result.

    They are rare, but you can occasionally find chamber pots with General Butler's likeness painted on the bottom.

    Wait, I can't spit on soldiers?! My New Orleans trip is ruined.

    So who do we have showing up to this thing? There were lots of yays at the beginning, but I'd like to know who is actually planning on making it for that date.

    Noland has already promised to supply glitter. It's gonna be rad.

    I'm out. I got the master schedule from school on Friday. We have 5 exams the week following that weekend. Have a drink for me! I would've enjoyed a weekend in NOLA meeting fellow freaks.

    I'd be up for something during Winter Break (Dec 16-Jan 17) since I will have no commitments.

    I'm in if I can find a baby sitter and get off at a decent time. What time is everyone officially meeting up on the 8th? Is this only going to be a two day thing or how is this officially going to work?

    I'd love to come, since I'm only 5 hours from there, but I'd just as soon my wife not find out about TiB. I'll have to pass.
