https://qz.com/967554/the-five-universal-laws-of-human-stupidity/ The Golden Law of stupidity (Law 3): "A stupid person is one who causes losses to another person or a group of people while they gain nothing or may even suffer losses." Focus: By this definition, are you stupid? In what way? What kind of stupidity exists? Alt-focus: What is your definition of stupid? What's the most dangerous form of stupid in your life?
This weekend I went to Chipotle, and their credit card reader went down, after they had already made my burrito. Their solution to this problem was not "give the customer the burrito and chalk this up as a loss due to the credit card reader" it was "throw away the burrito and still chalk this up as a loss due to the credit card reader, but also we've annoyed a regular customer as well."
dangerous stupidity, for me, is when it starts affecting other people. Want to light a bottle rocket out of your ass? Go ahead. I'll laugh. Want to shoot said bottle rocket out of your ass and at me? Go fuck yourself. Alcohol, drugs, whatever, same deal. Do it at home? Great, knock yourself out. Do it and drive? Eat shit.
Chipotle is its own thing. Same way Panda Express is different from Chinese food. If I want an actual burrito I'll go to the taco truck by the Smart and Final.
