    I caught the first episode, Clive Owen stars as a surgeon in 1900's NYC. Pretty solid first episode but I would have thought the rasicm in 1900 would have been worse than depicted.

    Worth watching.

    clive owen did an interview on grantland for this and it sounds pretty damn good. also sounds really good because he's going to hop in it and hop out. sounds true detective-ish in that way.

    owen was excellent the first episode. old school medicine-- the look, the procedures, the individuals involved all collectively make my skin crawl. hospitals seemed more scary than helpful in the old days.

    did anybody find the music score eyebrow-raising? very early-80's electro sound to it.
