Comedy Central has picked up Mike Judge's "The Goode Family". They didn't mention new episodes but considering it ran only 1 season, I'm certain new episodes are forthcoming.
I was super excited when I saw this. I watched the entire first season, and thought it was a really clever show. The style of humor is similar to King of the Hill, finding the funny in everyday people without making them ridiculous caricatures. The characters are a little exaggerated, but not unbelievable. There are a lot of subtle jokes that you have to pay attention to catch, but still a good mix of obvious ones. I am super excited to see some new episodes, the first season left me really wanting more. The dog cracks me the fuck up.
My member could of been nominated 'Amateur Rocket Scientist" of the year when I heard this show was getting picked up again. Everything Mike Judge has touched recently (King of the Hill, Extract) has been gold, so I will be following this closely.
Wow, I'm speechless. This is like a belated holiday/New Year's gift. I thought that "The Goode Family" was one of the most criminally overlooked, hilarious comedy series I've ever seen. The episode with the criminals picking up bottles was legitimately one of the funniest television episodes ever. I can only hope they make more episodes.
Say it aint so!!! http://tvwatch.people.com/2010/01/0...+people/headlines+(PEOPLE.com:+Top+Headlines)
