What’s worse is we are all going to binge the absolute shit out this like an eightball in September, and then we’ll be empty and wanting more again.
True, my only saving grace might be my wife's work schedule. We will watch it together so depending on what she is on, it might take us a few weeks.
Looks like we won’t be binging it. They announced Prime will release the first THREE episodes September 4, then one episode each week after that.
Homelander is the most terrifying TV character there is. Take away all the fantasy trappings of the show and you have the purest and most realistic of sociopaths with the powers of hell at his command. The scene with him and the blind guy was out of this world. I hated that Vought PR chick in season one, this year I couldn’t feel more sorry for her.
Maybe aside from Heath Ledger’s Joker and Michael Keaton’s Vulture, he’s probably the best supervillain ever put on screen.
No current actor on TV is better at playing an impulsive mess of a human being. Here he’s a character that only acts on bad things: sadism, pretentiousness, laziness, narcissism and a demand of utter compliance from all. ...A textbook groomed sociopath, played utterly real in an entirely unrealistic setting. I don’t mean “TV sociopath” whatever that is, but somebody who could and does exist. It’s a performance that deserves awards, but won’t get any specifically because of the setting.
Yeah, I think what adds to that is that hes so captivating on screen, but he's a complete monster. Same effect as Hopkins' Hannibal Lector.
At the beginning of season 1 I was excited because Antony is fucking hot. But he is actually so frightening as this character he isn’t even attractive to me now. I get tense and worried about every interaction he has now. That’s some psycho acting, he is so intense.
He’s not even TRYING to make his character charismatic or sexy. The part where’s he’s shouting “LOOK. AT. ME!!!!” at the PR girl he does it with rage, while he also cracks his voice and snivelled his voice almost as if he’s about to cry at the same time. Not since Lithgow on Dexter and Alby on Big Love has a character made my skin crawl so much (in a good way).
The whale scene in 3 killed me. So funny, so gross. edit: episode 2 actually. Was wicked high and a wee bit lost.
I love how it's become a running joke that every seacreature that The Deep connects with dies as a result of his actions, like the dolphin and lobster in season 1.
It is brilliant. His trip with his gills was something wild too. Homelander trying to play dad gave me anxiety, I was waiting for him to hurt that kid. Stormfront is interesting so far, appears to be a psycho that may or may not be getting into Homelanders way.
