here's a situation; I'm looking at finally upgrading my daily driver to a used small(er) truck and I think the Chevy Colorado is about what I need. MY big 3 buying ideas are- Under 120k mileage, around $15-18,000, and 4wd. I can find decent trucks, but all I end up seeing are RWD, or have 150K mileage. If I had 40k to burn, I'd go get a Tacoma, but the market is stupid on those. Are there other brand I should be exploring, like a Ford Maverick, or a Honda Ridgeline? Also, is the 4wd as big a sticking point as I'm making it? I live in the Midwest, so snow/ice are expected and common.
A few weeks back I started noticing some squealing on my rear wheels any time I would leave my driveway, so I assumed that given the mileage on the car, it was time for new pads. So I went in a replaced all 4 pads just to keep everything in line, and at first the squealing went away. However, now I'm noticing that it's still there, but ONLY when I've had my emergency brake engaged, which I do pretty much every time I'm in my driveway since it's a pretty steep incline, and I drive a manual, so I always pull the e-brake just in case I forget to leave the car in gear. Any thoughts on what might still be causing the noise, or at least something to check real quick?
Yeah, sounds like the e-brake is dragging/ not fully disengaging. This could be because of the brake mechanism itself, or your cables might be sticking. What kind of car is it?
I don't think it does... I remember an electric parking brake upgrade being a pretty popular thing for them. (but I could very well be wrong, obviously)
Any of you happen to have a Subaru EH65 carb laying around do you? I got a miller TrailBlazer 302 for free, just needed a carb. On first glance it looks like they are 600USD, with our dollar and the tariffs it is going to be stupid expensive to get this thing up and running.
Ugh. Had a large brad nail puncture a tire. It was mostly holding air, but would drop 15 psi overnight. I'm swapping out to summer tires on Tuesday, so went to the local Kal Tire to try and get it patched/plugged, and they wouldn't do it because it's too close to the sidewall. I only needed something temp that was better than driving around with a fucking nail sticking out of the tire, but they wouldn't touch it due to liability. I get it, but still sucked. So I got a tire plug kit and just plugged it myself. What a PITA when it's freezing with a wind outside. Didn't even take the wheel off the car. It's fucking ugly, but it's no longer leaking, and I'm sure it'll last until Tuesday morning. I know, I know... looks factory, doesn't it?
That sucks, i drove over a 4" impact driver bit on my brand new tires for my gsxr750, still had little finger things on it.
Would a can of the slime shit plug it? Or does that stuff leave a huge mess for the tire shop to clean up when they change the tire?
Yeah… it would have plugged it, but then the next guy to replace the tire would hate me. Cleaning that shit up off of a hub SUCKS.

I'd get the F-550 with the 7.3 gas engine. That engine isn't an option in the 450, I don’t believe. It will be cheaper, probably both in the short term and long term. Just have to find a bed for it, because I believe they're all cab and chassis.
