I've seen this brought up a couple times now and since we normally have a dedicated thread for it, here it is. Share food and shit. At the moment I am searching for a bag of frozen god damn chicken wings and cannot find any. WTF?
The three grocery stores I can shop in my town have all been out of frozen french fries for over a week. Frank's hot sauce Buffalo Chicken Dip is my favorite Super Bowl grazing food, with Tostitos Scoops.
Skyline chili dip. Simple and will have the bowl returned clean. In Cincinnati at least. Hormel chili, no beans, can be substituted if you don’t have access to skyline.
That looks good. But, don't they put chili on spaghetti in Cincinnati? Is this people we need to trust with chili recipe ideas?
Whatever more spaghetti on chili for me. I went to a super bowl party once where 3 people brought it and they were all scraped clean. Like buffalo chicken dip you can’t go wrong melting cheddar cheese into cream cheese with a meat.
I'm doing thighs, because wings are scarce and outrageously expensive here. Plus most of us are doing plates/bowls instead of finger food. And slow cooker pork loin. If I can find tri-tip I'm doing that, and if not, I'm doing rib eyes on the grill.
If I had to wager a guess...it's a pepperoni pizza with super crispy cheese around the edges. I wholeheartedly approve.
Restaurant Depot has wings and tri tip in stock if one is near you, at least they did this morning. I do whole chickens deboned Pepin style stuffed with crumbled bacon and Colby jack cheese, smoked over some apple wood. Add some homemade Mac n Cheese, some green beans simmered in fatback and that’s dinner.
The Super Bowl is long past, but on a related note I'd post to the "just set it and..." frozen food thread, except I can no longer find it: Supermarkets here in Vegas have had very few Jimmy Dean's frozen breakfast products for a while. All I can find right now is their breakfast burritos, and their skillet mixes that are more work than just throwing something in the microwave. I DM'd them via Twitter to ask if their stuffed hash browns are discontinued, and they said no, they still make them. They asked for my ZIP code to check stores that carry it. Reply came back that no one in my area has the goddamned stuffed burritos I raved about a few years ago here, in the frozen food thread that's since disappeared. The Jimmy Dean's section in the frozen aisle of my supermarket is sitting there fucking empty.
