You missed the best quote from this episode-

Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
    Lisa: No.
    Homer: Ham?
    Lisa: No.
    Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal.
Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

I would like to add "My Night at Daria's" to this list. It was the second-to-last episode of the series, and it sticks out in my mind as an episode I kept in mind as I got older. In the episode, Tom falls asleep in Daria's bed, and Quinn starts a rumor that they're sleeping together, which makes her consider sleeping with him for real. I also saw Daria as a major influence in my teenage years, so her trepidation over losing her virginity resonated with me.

Always Sunny in Philidelphia: Mac and Charlie Die Part 1
In a five minute span in this episode, it garnishes more laughs than some entire sitcoms do, starting with Mac stealing Sweet Dea's keys and shoving her as hard as he can by the face, the window smash, then driving her car into a brick wall at full speed with no seatbelt on, to wearing a wedding dress because of his concussion....JESUS. To many laughs for one person to take.

    The Simpsons: The "B" Sharps
I think all in all the episode that cracks me up the most, Chief Wiggum is an absolute riot in this episode. My all-time favourite from this legendary show.

    Family Guy: Road to Europe
Brian and Stewie make a marvelous comedy duo and I doubt this show will ever top this half hour. It also has my all-time funniest moment in the history of the show:

Spartacus Blood & Sand: Kill Them All (1-13)
I'll say nothing. If you saw the season 1 finale, then that's all the explanation I need.

Quality episode from the best television show ever made, and coincidentally, just watched it last night.

But for me, I'd say that Noel is probably the best single episode from the show. Bradley Whitford's turn as Josh Lyman coping with PTSD after being shot is profound, and Alan Alda is awesome as Dr. Stanley, a trauma specialist assigned to him after he loses his shit with the president. Also, Leo tells this awesome story:

"This guy's walking down the street when he falls in a hole. The walls are so steep he can't get out.
"A doctor passes by and the guy shouts up, 'Hey you. Can you help me out?' The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole and moves on.
"Then a priest comes along and the guy shouts up, 'Father, I'm down in this hole can you help me out?' The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole and moves on
"Then a friend walks by, 'Hey, Joe, it's me can you help me out?' And the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, 'Are you stupid? Now we're both down here.' The friend says, 'Yeah, but I've been down here before and I know the way out.'"

I still get a little misty when Carol of the Bells plays at the end of that one.

That was a great episode indeed. I also always loved the big block of cheese day episodes. WW is my second favorite series of all time so yeah, tons of great episodes kicking around.

    Californication- The Pilot.

I love this show and how it's all about snappy dialogue and Shit Happens, but no matter how hard it tires it will NEVER top its very first episode. From Hank chicking his cigarette into the church Holy Water to him tearing apart his blind date in 30 seconds at the dinner table, there's a reason why everybody loves this show from the start.

    "Yo, K-FED!!!!"

I am retarded...it was Adam Arkin, who went on to play the lawyer in the all-too-short-lived show, Life. My bad, thanks for the rep corrections.

Surprisingly a lot of my favorite episodes have been mentioned, from Dexter to Scrubs to How i Met your Mother. So I figured I'd pick the 2 that still stick to me this day and that I would watch over and over.

    Heroes - Pilot Episode
I know I might catch a lot of shit for picking it but this first episode really got me so excited that a new Superhero show was coming out and it was going to take on a lot of real-world issues, and I use that word loosely, about having superpowers. From seeing Claire make the videotape jumping off the water tower to Hiro transporting to New York to Nathan flying at the end and catching Peter, it just had me mesmorized. Of course I loved the entire first season but without that first episode I might've just passed it by.

The Office - Niagara Part 2
I could've picked a few ones that I thought might have been funnier or more of the awkwardness the show is known for but this was just a feel good episode that me and my girl watched. By the end, she was bawling, (but not me though cause I'm a guy and we don't do that) and when I saw bawling, I mean the tears were soaking through the blanket she was using to wipe her face. If they had ended the series right there I would've been happy. I know a lot of people thought the dance thing at the end was very corny and they could've done better but I loved it. It was what I expected The Office group to do.

There was one episode of Scrubs I'll never forget.

It must've been a few seasons in because the jerk Dr Cox was beginning to show some depth of character and not just playing the jerk at all times.

In the episode, each main character had a dying patient who needed an organ donor. Well, at the last minute a donor dies and they all get their organs. Seems like everyone's gonna have their happy ending when in the last minute of the show, everything goes wrong. Apparently the donor was a drug addict or something like that and all the donated organs were failing. All the patients died.

While that in itself was sad, JD and co. were able to console themselves with the fact that their patients were going to die that day without a donor anyways. But Dr. Cox's patient was not dying. His patient could've lived a long life without his replacement kidney, albeit extremely uncomfortably.

This all goes down in the last minute or two of the show and Dr. Cox takes it so hard that he quits.

I thought it was really well done. It was heartfelt and emotional and took me by surprise. I was already a wreck emotionally as I was going through a break-up with my fiance. I connected with Dr. Cox's character, the major failure and the desire to give up. And I bawled.

My favorite episode of The Simpsons is "Lisa's First Word." This episode was actually shown on FOX on Sunday night as a tribute to Elizabeth Taylor, who did Maggie's voice in the episode. It was the first time in a long time that I saw an episode from the "Golden Age" of The Simpsons shown on television.

In this episode, Homer and Marge tell Bart and Lisa what was happening in the months leading up to Lisa's birth and how "Bart" ended up being her first word. I mainly like this episode because of all the gags that they show from Bart's baby years: Bart banging the pots and pans and singing "I m so great, I am so great, everybody loves me I am so great" while Marge was laying on the bed pregnant, Bart not wanting to give up his crib and Homer building him the scary-looking clown bed, and Krusty the Clown running the contest at Krusty Burger where you win a free burger whenever the Americans win an event at the Olympics, and it's rigged to be events that the Soviets never lose, but then the Soviet Union boycotts the games. This has always been my favorite episode of the show, and it has held up well over the years.

King of the Hill: "The Texas Panhandler." This is the one where Bobby and Joseph try to get jobs so that they can buy an expensive pair of jeans. They end up meeting a group of kids who are in their late teens or early 20s who stand on a street corner and ask for change from people. Bobby and Joseph end up getting the money to buy the jeans and continue to get change from people until Hank catches them. Hank's reaction when he sees them is his classic mortified scream. In the end Bobby gets a job handing out fliers on the street, which is where my favorite line from the episode comes in: "I think I'm gonna work a few more hours. A small popcorn and no drink is NO way to start a relationship" (Bobby had a date to the movies for later that evening). This is a classic episode that illustrates the relationship between Hank and Bobby, and Hank trying to teach Bobby to do what's right.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The Waitress is Getting Married.

Season 5 started out weak, but got strong, really quickly. For me, this episode featured everybody doing what they do best: Frank and Artemis being weird, Dennis being a smug asshole, Mac being clueless, Dee being shrill and Charlie being...Charlie. It also has some of the best scenes in the show's run.

    "What do you mean magnets!?"

"Cover your knees if you're going to be walking around out there."

"How much cheese did you eat?"

"Let me pop an H on here, so I know this box is filled with hornets"

Coupling, The Man with Two Legs.

Jeff is obviously the best character, and the development of his ridiculous scenario is hilarious.

As funny as making fun of hipster bums is, that was far from the best episode. I think the best and most stand out episode is Cotton's Plot. Peggy is nearly paralyzed from a sky diving accident the season before. Cotton promises to help her walk again if she helps him attain a spot in a Texas State Cemetery. Cotton in drill instructor fashion berates and belittles Peggy more than ever before but she starts to see fast results. Her spirit is almost broken when she finds out most of his war time stories were lies as he could not have been in Europe fighting the Nazi's and in Asia fighting Tojo at the same time. She quits his training and refuses to help Cotton until Hank defends his dad's heroism in the face of losing his shins. She helps Cotton get the plot and in the final scene Cotton leads Peggy on an emotional dance on his grave. It's a really touching end to the story and showed strong sentimentality between two characters who normally hated each other.

Bobby is near catatonic from taking care of Cotton and DeDe's new child. Bill steals Peggy's full body cast and in top Bill fashion worships it until Dale finds out and blackmails him into letting him use it for the HOV lane. Boomhauer gets ahold of it later and uses it in a sexual role playing game with a new girlfriend.

The West Wing has a lot of great episodes, and while I agree all of the episodes mentioned were great ones, the best episode ever in my opinion was "Game On". The episode was in season 4, and it was the debate episode in Bartlett's re-election campaign. There was just something about the episode. I just loved how everyone on the staff embraced the challenge they were up against and had swagger that built through the episode. It hit all of the notes that I loved about the show. I love The West Wing as a show, and its incredibly difficult to pick one best episode, but "Game On" is my favorite.

Also, I'd like to second the "Jurassic Bark" episode of Futurama. That's my vote for the greatest episode of any cartoon ever.

I'm not sure if anyone here watched this show, but Tour of Duty was one badass show.

My apologies for not being able to confirm that this is the correct episode and season, but I'm almost sure this this right:

Season Three: And Make Death Proud to Take Us: Sarge and Lt. are stuck behind enemy lines and surrounded by VC. Lt. calls in an airstrike on their location. He says into the phone, "Let it rain!". Whoever is on the other end questions him and he says emphatically, "LET IT RAIN!" Mad explosions occur, death, destruction, etc...I don't want to spoil any more in case one of you wants to watch this.
If you have never heard of this show, here are the opening credits. If you like Vietnam-era war shit, you'll like this.

Don't even know where to begin with Curb Your Enthusiasm. The special that inspired the series was hysterical, as was the actual pilot (The Pants Tent), both of which are Larry David at his absolute best. It's just that the show is so layered and done in such a subtle way that everything builds and you find yourself in tears at some innocuous gag or comment that a new viewer won't get, and you can't explain it, because well...you can't.

If I had to pick one, I'd say "The Anonymous Donor". It just touches on so many things that make that show what it is, stupid societal norms that aren't actually normal (law of the dry cleaners), Larry getting miffed over Ted Danson choosing to have his wing of the hospital say "Wing Donated by Anonymous" unbeknownst to him, making Larry look like an attention seeking douchebag since his wing has his name, JB Smoove's character Leon absolutely steals every scene he's in, Jeff Garlin jerking off in Larry's house, etc. Every episode comes back full circle, but this one does it in an absolutely hysterical way. Just a complete classic.

If Curb Your Enthusiasm ever did one of those bullshit memory lane episodes, and it just so happened to be one where they showed nothing but Leon Black clips, THAT would be the best episode ever.

Okay, one more has come to mind, and it is really, really new, but so is the series:

Archer: The Placebo Effect, Season 2: This episode just aired recently. The overall arc of the episode is that Archer has been diagnosed with breast cancer, but he finds out that the drugs he has been taking are placebos (sugar pills and zima). Because the episode is so recent and I know a lot of board members watch the show and may not have got to this episode, I'll put the rest in spoilers:
This is the only episode I've rewatched multiple times and I am constantly entertained and laughing. Every gag seemed to land, and Archer's rampage was awesome and creative, from his threatening to shove a knife up a guy's dickhole to a family-feud style interrogation, and shoving a grenade up a guy's ass so if the guy relaxes, the grenade will go off. Every gag in the episode worked, and finally, the fact that the majority of the episode was just Archer and Lana made it even better, as the chemistry of those two characters is excellent.

Noel was a great West Wing episode, but my favorite, hands down, is Two Cathedrals, the second season finale. The scene where President Bartlett curses out God never fails to give me chills.

Then at the end, Bartlett has to decide whether he's running for reelection as "Brothers in Arms" plays in the background. There are some great little things in this scene that are easy to miss, like when Charlie sees the President isn't wearing a coat and takes off his own in solidarity. Stuff like that is why the West Wing is one of the greatest shows of all time.

Only one episode of tv has ever made me cry: the episode of ER where Dr. Greene dies. I was unabashedly bawling by the end.
