Last year, I was driving to one of our locations in Gulf Shores Alabama, and got pulled over for speeding. Now, I am usually a "77 and cruise" kind of guy, so getting a ticket for going 85 in a 70 shocked even me. I then realized the culprit for my lead foot... Van Halen's "Jump." That catchy tune holds such good memories from my formative years, that no matter where I am or what I am doing at the time, if that song comes on, my adrenaline starts cranking. FOCUS: What song or artist makes you want to roll down the windows, step on the gas, and crank it LOUD!!!!! (Negative rep if you say "I can't drive 55" that's just unoriginal...)
In high school me and my friends went through an emo rock phase. My friend had this Honda Civic hatchback with subs in the back that we would cruise around in (the high school I went to was different, we took only college classes in 11th and 12th grade) during the day. Whenever this song came on, the people in the car would rock out as hard as possible, and my friend would slam his little hatchback about curves. The beginning drum beat just gets me going.
Ive already got my first two rockers for when I take my first cruise in a month an a half as a free man: Not your blood boiling rock songs but nothing is better than cranking these with the windows down and taking a cruise at dusk through the country.
Right about the part where it gets to "...god of war like Mars..." I'll usually look down and see I'm doing 90.
It was Velvet Revolver's "Slither" that helped me snag a ticket going 19 over last week. Maybe I should send the bill to Slash?
I guess I fall into the "tool" category then. This is the song they played when we came on the field in high school. Now whenever it comes on in the truck, my windows go down as well as my right foot. Pavlov's dog and all.
Three immediately come to mind: I don't even really like Crue, but this song makes me want to drive really fast. Another that makes my foot turn to lead. Again, I don't really like anything else by Sponge, but this song... One of my favorite songs by one of my top three favorite bands, pity the video is laughably bad.
Anything by Andrew WK does it to me, but this song probably gets to me the worst (or best) There is a definite change in my driving attitude if I hear this song. I actually had to take my 'She Is Beautiful' CD out of my car. My driving was starting to get scary because 90% of the songs on that album made me want to just floor it no matter where I was and drive like a complete asshole. Now I just stick to listening to it before hockey.
If you can listen to the first ten seconds of this second without getting pumped up, then I don't know what's wrong with you. When I listen to either of these next two songs, my heart rate rises. Probably due to the fact that I work out to at least one of them six days a week, moreso the second of the two.
