Solid opening episode, I thought. And I fucking LOVE the soundtrack to this show... First, their kick-ass verison of John the Revelator, and now a killer version of Bohemian Rhapsody... very nice. So... thoughts?
Brutal opening sequence, SOA delivers a solid first episode, the sad thing is I didn't know it was on tonight at all. Boardwalk doesn't have anything on this show.
How long do you think before Jax finds out Gemma did it? How long does Juice have to live? What do you think the endgame is? I'm leaning back and forth between everyone dying, and Jax making it out with the boys to work as a no name mechanic in some midwestern cow town (maybe in WitPro). But Sutter has consistently come up with interesting and shocking plot devices we didn't see coming, so who knows?
The end game has got to be the same as what Jax went through with his father wanting to get out but not, right? Right? I can't help but think that is overarching story. Jax has the best of intentions of wanting to get out, just like his dad did, but shit goes sideways, and he doesn't make it out, and his kids are doomed to repeat and try again. The self-perpetuating cycle. Or, the writers pull a fast one, Jax nukes everything from orbit, and him and his kids are the only ones who make it out alive.
The show may follow Hamlet, or not. As much as I like the club I don't give a shit what happens to Jax, he's a hypocrite who drove Juice off for things he's done a hundred fold throughout the series. I find it impossible to feel sorry for him since all he does is go behind the club's back for his own interests.
My fantasy ending? Jax's latest move hits club radar in a bad way and there's a wide spread plan to take him out. One of his boys takes a flesh wound in the crossfire of a hit aimed at him as he finds out that Gemma killed Tara it finally breaks the last hold the club has on Jax. So he negotiates a witpro deal to get out ahead of it all, but begs out of protection just long enough to fucking kill ~everyone~ who had a hand in the hit in a beautiful wrath of god moment. Then he drops a giant fucking mess on Gemma for his witpro deal. Closing sequence montage of Jax dropping his boys at a new school wearing mechanic shop uniform in some bumfuck town, and then being seen by someone who recognizes him and reaches for a phone, all unseen by Jax. Cut to Gemma realizing that everything is fucking gone and dusted and done and she's been left holding the bag, seeing the cops come to arrest her and pulling out a gun and then snapping it up as Unser dives through the back door in a last ditch effort to get her out before the cops take her, pan back to a nomad brother bringing a rocket launcher up pointed at her house to get back at the last of the royal family who cost his brothers everything, and fade out before we ever know if she shoots Unser, tops herself, suicides by cop, gets taken out by the rocket, or ends up in jail or if Jax lives happily ever after with his boys or gets taken out when the Witpro cover is blown. The last voice over of Jax reading from John's last entry in some fucking new diary or lost letter that they found "Everything ends, one way or another, and blood stains every hand."
I just watched the first episode. Did anyone else notice Marilyn Manson was the aryan brotherhood boss in the prison? And let's not overlook the fact that Theo Huxtable is now riding with The Grim Bastards. I can't imagine how disappointed Cliff and Clair are in their little boy.
I think Nett has nailed this season so far. Jax is nuking everything and everyone and he just doesn't care. I forget who said it in the preview for next weeks episode(Nero maybe?), but Jax is not using violence for just for revenge but because he is enjoying it.

I think the same thing began with Opie's death: Jax becomes a revenge monster, until everyone and anyone who benefited from it is eliminated. Since Juice is still alive and the info he has on Gemma (Tara's murder) is his one ticket to live or witpro, I think it's a matter of time before that info spreads. All Juice needs is evidence, and Unser will get it for him. The question is will Jax kill his mother in a quest for revenge? If so, how bad will the club get before he does? Will the club's slighted members (pretty much any of them have reason to stop the murder train at this point) put a stop to him? This season is awesome so far. A four-way gang war that stems from the club's pursuit of Jax's vengeance? Tits and money.

I loved them using the crooked cops to detain the Chen's gang. I hated that it lead to them all being arrested. Just resolve something. It feels like Prison Break. Juice is going to bring Peg Bundy back to Jacks and tell him the truth. Juice will then be killed by Jacks because Jacks believes he is a liar. He will figure it out in the final episode. They also have to kill Unser because they will figure out he tipped off the cops. I'm hoping it all ends with Jacks torturing his Mom to death then blowing up Charming (and himself) with some sort of nuclear weapon that he steals from the Russians.
Juice is obviously going to take Gemma to Jax. He won't believe him at first and Jax may kill him but eventually with the help of the Chinese he will realize the truth. I think while that is starting to play out Jury will finally make his appearance to take revenge on Jax for killing whom I believe to be his son. Either that or he will tell his charter, which will leave the Sons, and then slaughter all of Samcro. In the end I think that Jax is going to lose his mom, then lose his club so it's only him and his boys. Possibly with Wendy.
