Just caught the first 2 episodes of AMC's new series Rubicon. It's a political espionage kind of thing with a definite 70's feel to it. I'm liking it so far. Anyone else seen it yet?
I really like the premise. If you've seen 3 Days of the Condor, you'll notice a lot of inspiration from that film/book in this series. It's just not as fast paced as I'd like it to be. Caught the third episode last night, seems to be picking up a little. I can see the son who was introduced last night being a key player in the conspiracy and providing a shocker moment eventually. That's the same guy who played the super genius spy in Charlie Wilson's War.
Caught up to episode 6 this afternoon. Still liking it a lot. Has a very All The Presidents Men feel to it.
This show is either incredibly slow, or every detail is integral. That said, I've enjoyed each episode and trying to figure out what's going on. Also, I really like the use of music to build suspense/pace the show.
