Yep. It was entertaining I thought, and I found I was pretty invested in Stallone’s character in the last episode. I’m wanting to see season 2.
Speaking of Taylor Sheridan, he also did that new Lioness show with Zoe Saldana. Another fun show that isn’t trying to be high art. Same with Mayor of Kingstown.
Me and the wife just finished S2. I enjoyed it, but yea slow, but since we basically only had to wait for the last episode, we werent waiting to catch the next ep and left wanting because of the pacing. I would describe it as Fallout, if they never left bunker.
I ended up buying the books and reading them. They’re good, but the show is actually deviating from it in ways that strengthen the overall story. Without spoiling anything, the books started as a short story, but fans clamored for more. The first part of the books (the original short story, which is like the first two episodes of the show) is great, classic sci-fi.
Just finished watching "The Agency". Its a showtime show but I have it on Paramount plus. I thought it was a great spy show. Great casting and acting.
The Deuce There’s just something about shitty, dingy, crime-infested 1970’s New York City that always makes for great cinema and period pieces. This is no exception. Another HBO show I missed out on its later years, this is one of the best they’ve ever made. This (like other David Simon shows) flaunts a massive ensemble cast and focuses on the porn and sex trade industry in 1971, 1978 and 1985 (with 42nd street as the story’s hub) for each of the three seasons. An often awkward, sleazy, tragic but ALWAYS entertaining show with remarkably fleshed-out characters. This is mature adult entertainment, I couldn’t recommend it more.
