Rave: I finally got my truck back from the body shop. Rant: One day short of six months. That is how long I didn't have it. I know better than to use that shop ever again, and If I ever need a body shop again, make sure to use a shop contracted with your insurance company. The shop said it was parts availability issues.
Rant: Bought a brand new grill, which I spent a good chunk of change on, for it to show up with a huge dent in the lid. Thank you, Home Depot. Rave: At least they gave me a $250 gift card and a full refund for the return.
Rant: My co-worker is a nice young lady, but my God she smells awful. It’s a mix of really bad armpit B.O. combined with some other underlying odor. I finally said something to management a couple weeks ago, and apparently wasn’t the first to complain. But they don’t seem to have done anything about it. I hate to, but I’ll have to make another complaint because it’s getting warmer out and I can’t tolerate it.
Rave: Fiber internet is just a bit faster than DSL. And by a just a bit I mean a hell of a lot faster. The kicker is it's cheaper to boot. Phone companies really don't like supporting old copper lines.
Mines nowhere near that impressive. It was a circular "wart" that I originally thought was a skin flap on my neck but when the dermatologist examined it she said that it wasn't that, that it could be cancerous and they did a biopsy right then(found out a few days later it wasn't cancerous). Originally there was a circular scar on my neck but that's all but gone now. Hope everything turned out ok with yours though.
RANT: I always said that if I went back to work, I'd just get a job where I clock in, do my work, clock out and go home. It's been just over two months and they already have me running production and said there's a very real chance of a GM position coming up in a few months and my name has been mentioned a lot. Not sure if I'm wanting that stress and hours anymore. RAVE?: 50% bump in pay would be nice as Pres Dingus crashes the economy
RANT: Our major intersection in our small town is going to be under construction for the next 6 months(probably year). The provincial government is paying to install a round about that is absolutely not needed. Not against round abouts, just not at this location. Spoiler: diagram Red lines are 99% of traffic that doesn't need a round about. Green lines are 1% of traffic that this will make quicker. But with the traffic light at the other intersection, you really have 1 minute wait tops, most the time it is 20seconds. Green square is a bunch of beautiful tree in the court house yard that are going to get destroyed.
Rave: my mother in law is flying in right now to come help me and the household out for a week. My kid's birthday is tomorrow and party this weekend. My husband is struggling to get it all done. I am so grateful for her help.
Rave: Just tried a Sapphire Lounge for the first time since I usually never fly out of this terminal. Holy cow is it better than every other lounge, except maybe Centurion. Made to order smash burger/fries and as many beers as I want for nothing. Priority Pass lounge is for the poors.
Rant - Still not at my heaviest weight, ( 297 ) but it's been creeping back up and I'm completely disgusted with how I feel physically, but also I believe it's affecting me mentally. I know what to do, hell I helped run a doctor's weight management program, but losing weight has gotten harder to do over the past few years. Rave - Finally nutted up and called a medical weight loss program run by a local hospital. Two of my co-workers are having great success with it, so why not try? Rant - They're booking into September and can't even schedule me until they make sure my insurance covers it. So probably won't be seen until October. Rave - Screw it, I'll rededicate myself, knuckle down and get started on my own until then.
RAVE: Officially in the new house. RANT: it's a complete cluster fuck and I can't find shit. Big RAVE: Going to have a Son in law. As known on here, I didn't have kids but have been a part of her life since she was 14 and pretty cool seeing her at 28 with her own little family now.
Rent: Kiddo was upset because they peed their pants after falling asleep in the car and was hungry on top of that. Just inconsolable. We were picking up snacks for the hotel at Walmart. As my husband comes out of the bathroom with my crying child a man sees them and asks him aggressively, "what'd you do to (lil B)?" Clearly suggesting that hubs is a pedo and hurt lil B in some way. He just responded "She peed her pants and woke up from a nap very upset" but was shaking from the anger and adrenaline. He's just in a pissy mood Great start to vacay.
Rant: at the hospital with a DVT. Waiting to be discharged so I can pick up meds, go back to Auntie's house and sleep. Rave: really impressed with CA medical system.
Rave: feeling optimistic about my progress on my leg and fractured ankle. The DVT pain is way less than last week and my calf isn't hard anymore. I think the compression stocking was a game changer. I'm able to hobble around with a boot in the house but I take a crutch with me away from the house just in case. I can drive. The one thing I really can't do is enter the garden and duck area since the ground is so uneven/mushy in spots and there's a lot of things to trip over. I'm kind of letting go of summer garden expectations and handling what's in my ability. Being able to do stuff around the house has helped me mentally so much. I don't like being helpless.
Rave: My wife was this year’s recipient of an excellence in leadership award. Her boss called me two weeks ago to tell me, and invite us and her parents to surprise her when she found out. She knew she was nominated but didn’t think she’d win it. I had little doubt, as nobody puts more effort into their profession, and truly loves it, than her. It was nice to be the one cheering her on. Usually it’s the other way around. It’s also awesome that they, particularly her boss, recognize her efforts. The place she worked at for nearly 20 years before switching health care systems did not. Instead they took her for granted and I’d go so far as to say took advantage of her. Her boss and I have an agreement: She’ll never let my wife leave there and nor will I.
Rant: Have to do a few layoffs tomorrow. Not looking forward to it. Rave: Got promoted. Guess I need to put on my big boy pants.
