Rant: Today is off to a wonderful fucking start. It’s about 6 degrees (F) here. The heat to the second floor of the house isn’t working properly. Our sewer pump alarm went off and we’re not sure why. And to top it off I my nose started bleeding profusely just as I was about to leave the house to get groceries. FML

Rant: healthcare in this area. I can't get treatment for a UTI without going to the ER or the next state. Oh, and since hubs job benefits don't start for 45 days, I also don't have insurance.

RAVE: I just got a new work truck today!
    Work truck.jpg

RANT: I have to transfer all of the tools/ equipment from my old work rig into this one. My old work truck was the oldest one in the fleet, and was handed down through several guys. You wouldn't believe how much crap there is in those boxes/ drawers. In addition to the transfer, there will be a lot of cleaning of tools/ equipment...

Rant: In the time I’ve quit smoking I have had a tree fall on my house, my mailbox destroyed by a drunk driver, a severe high ankle sprain, a breakup, and a legit heart attack. Came home from the heart attack hospital visit to my water heater busted flooding my basement. I pissed RJ Reynolds off something fierce.

RANT: Can't make it to the show I wanted to see tomorrow night (Mammoth opening for Alter Bridge) because I can't find a dog boarder for the night, and my mom is off on a 3 week cruise in New Zealand.

RAVE: Sold my tickets (platinum box seats) for three times what I paid for them. Fucking hell.

Rant: it's kinda sad to examine relationships that have grown so far apart. I'm not nearly as close to a friend as I used to be. We used to be tight. She was my solo bridesmaid. I try to keep in touch a few times a year and see her when I'm in town but fuuuck. It's more work than anything. Now I'm reading articles on how to deal with homophobia because apparently now gays and lesbians are a huge evil thing that comes up casually in conversation. Fuck.

Rant: The wife's best friend from the military died from liver disease due to alcoholism. She drank herself to death by 33 years old, never slowed down, never tried to stop. It was sad to watch, it even came between her and my wife and they didn't talk much the last few years.

Rave: The weather has been beautiful for a change, I decided to work on my old Boston Whaler. In spite of not being started since about 2014, all it needed to run was gas. It purred like it always has. Once I cleaned the wasp nests and rat nests from under the cowling, I only found one wire that was a little chewed on, an easy fix.

I had really planned on sneaking off while the wife wasn't looking and spending $6k on a new outboard and controls. Time will tell if I should have done that or not, because....

Rant: It is far from the condition it was in when I parked it. There's about $1,000 worth of stuff, and a lot of time, to make it usable and reliable. The steering cable locked up. Some shift linkage is broken. Electric starter is seized, but it has a pull rope as backup, which I used today. The shift and throttle controls are missing parts for some reason. The lid for the storage in the bow is gone. Carb rebuild, water pump. Spark plugs, wires and coils. Probably seals in the gear housing, just to be safe.

Rant? I think I'm having a hard time dealing with the difference in climate from OR to coastal AL. I'm fuckin dying over here man. I'm going to lose 5lbs in sweat alone by the time I get my ass back on a plane. My mom thinks I'm having early hot flashes. On the plus side, she's taking some pity on me and occasionally turning on the AC in the car. I keep opening windows and then realizing it's the same goddamn temperature outside as it it inside.

RANT - The local scumbags are out in full force with the illegal dumping lately. Even the county executive, who lives out here in the country, says it's worse than he's ever seen. Couches, chairs, microwaves, stoves and countless bags of trash just dumped for someone else to clean up. I used to wish these people would have heart attacks... enough pain to scare them but not die. Now I wish they'd just die.

RANT - I am fasting for my first colonoscopy tomorrow and that cup of broth aint cutting it in the least. I have to start shitting my brains out soon. Yay.

Rant: ice storm, power is out. Worst part is that we can’t have our white noise machine on and have to listen to everyone’s generators. Might change my mind as it gets colder through. Womp womp.

Rant: My 3yr old got hit with a violent stomach bug this evening. He's finally sleeping in my lap after puking/dry heaving every 20-30min the past few hours. I hate that currently there's not much more I can do for him.

Rave! Power is back! Only took them 3 1/2 days… after a night at a friends and 2 nights at my parents’ house I’m definitely ready to sleep in my own bed. And as much as we appreciate people putting us up, double beds are stupid and too small.

Rant- My girlfriend dumped me yesterday. Out of the blue but not totally unexpected. She had never officially divorced her husband and decided to move back to his country to get back together with him. It was all very complicated. I was even toying with the idea of asking her to marry me if she signed divorce papers but had never voiced this to her. Our relationship was going very good. First long term, for me, girlfriend I’ve ever had.

Shitty thing is she laid out her reasons, not in a hurtful or vindictive manner, just matter of fact and they cut deep. She didn’t think I was the type of man she wanted to have kids with. I wasn’t serious enough for her in that I complain about my job and living situation and don’t do anything about it. I’ve mentioned here the troubles I have with crippling anxiety particularly in those situations. I’ve tried explaining it to her but the language barrier and her personality it never sank in. She’s the exact opposite and has bought and sold her first house, found a new apartment, and is at the bank today looking for loans to buy a duplex to have a revenue stream even when she moves back.

Just in the dumps and feel hopeless I’ll never change. Because I really do want to be that type person. Stings those were her most pointed reasons. Now I have to navigate working with her (yay work relationships!) and not turn into Jon Favreau from Swingers. I do need to get my shit together though a near 40 dude living at home with his mom and the deadest of dead end low paying jobs does not a great catch make.

I already hit the gym. I need to demand more of myself and my therapist. Get a better specialist do emdr or mushrooms or something. Get a sleep study too.

This isn't the best place for this but it also is so sorry 'bout it.

Rant: My husband died the end of December. He was diagnosed with colon cancer last March and though we knew it was stage four we thought we'd have more time. It was very aggressive and though his oncology team was amazing he ultimately died of septic shock as a result of the cancer. He was 39. I've mostly been holding it together but I won't lie, even just typing that out has me in tears again. Shit is hard.

Rave: The kids are doing really well, considering. Spring soccer season is kicking off and they're both playing which is keeping us all busy. I'm trying to keep everything as "normal" as possible which is sometimes easy because routine is comforting even when it's annoying.

Rant: So my mother in law has been really sick and beginning to suffer from dementia, so they decided to move back home to Sweden. Currently they pay 15000 dollars a month for her care. Sweden is a better option as : Free healthcare, max out of pocket home care costs of 250 bucks, nursing home for 800 bucks a month max. I've spent the past 3 months tirelessly working to prepare our house for them to live in when they arrive, making it handicapped accessible, building a wheelchair ramp and such. My wife and I bought them an apartment near us. I organized everything for home elder care. Everything is all set, and we flew to the US three days ago to come escort her mother back on the flight to Sweden.

Well her mother had a dementia episode and threw away her US passport. We aren't going to be able to get anything from the US in time for our flight in 2 days.

So I called up the Swedish consulate since they can arrange same day travel papers.

    Hold onto your hats.

    Super fucking rant:
It turns out THEY AREN'T FUCKING SWEDISH CITIZENS ANYMORE.

They automatically lost their Swedsih citizenship when they were naturalized in the US in the 1980s and had no fucking clue.

They can't even move to Sweden legally. No right to reside there for more than 90 days, no right to healthcare. I didn't look into it because why would I need to? They were born there, lived there 45 years, had 5 kids there.

I just give up. I have no idea what to do.
