Not just that. The flower company he was schlepping was giving them $0.05 for every $1 that was spent, so I imagine it was a small cash outlay and then a revenue sharing deal with them.

And then on his home improvement podcast, there's that little app that a contractor developed to deal with change requests from your smart phone (can't remember the name off hand). He said he wasn't getting paid for it, but liked the idea and was just "helping a fellow contractor out". In that case, it looks like he wasn't getting paid at all.

Really, I think that there are a million ways he's getting paid from this, and each deal is different. He's not making huge cash, but I get the impression they're starting to at least break even, which, given the staff and number of shows, seems to be fairly substantial.

I find his podcasts hit and miss, but more hit than miss. I don't do the best-of, and he has a few shows where the guests are boring, but every so often you get one that is off-the-charts awesome. Either in the "this chick is bat shit crazy" way, or in the "it's RON FUCKING SWANSON!" way. He's had some awesome guests that have given great interviews.

I find I download them all, and if a show isn't doing it for me, I'll just go on to the next one.

I'll say this about Carolla; the man has a real talent for carrying horrible guests. I can't count the number of times he has pulled out funny from a barely cogent, boring as dish water, brutally unfunny guest plugging their shitty book/movie/TV show.

Remember the Adrien Grenier episode? what a douchebag. Adam could only do so much with that deadweight.

I wasn't the least bit surprised about Grenier; even on screen, the guy plays the most boring, emotionless, empty character I have ever seen. Absolutely nothing there. Usually, actors can exhibit something on-screen but have nothing off it. This guy didn't even possess the former.

However, that same episode, the real Ari Gold was good for some hilarious quotes and stories, and Adam rightly focused more on him.

One of the funnier aspects I like about his podcasts are when he does talk about the best/worst guests in the history of Love Line and his podcasts.

By far one of the "fuck you" funniest podcasts was when Phil Spector's girlfriend(?) wife(?) was on trying to promote her new album, and they wanted to just talk about Spector and the trials.

"What was he thinking about with that stupid hair he wore into court?"

    "I did his hair."

Wow Jesse Ventura, wow. I like hearing his stories until he went completely off the rails with his conspiracy shit. You can tell Adam doesn't buy into much of it and kept trying to steer the conversation away from the crazy evil government talk.

I think Adam's podcast(s) are big enough to warrant their own thread for discussion, so I'll spin one up.

Let's try and keep this thread open for telling people about new podcasts, that kind of thing.

I don't think it's been mentioned yet: The History of Rome

A guy telling the history of Rome from the beginning in ~20 minute sections. Incredibly interesting and informative.

I checked out a couple podcasts today while working on my own ( and realizing I have a long fucking way to go ) and one I was listening to, "The Glory Hole" was pretty amusing. Well, it was better than a lot of what you find on the radio now. There's so much choice it's hard to decided where to start though.

I will have to check out Corrolas show when I have more time to listen.

    Darwin Lecture Series

I am also a big fan of iTunes University. In particular, if you go to the Cambridge University page and look for the Darwin Lecture Series you will find a host of wonderful lectures.

There is a wealth of interesting stuff to listen too from a wide array of colleges and universities.

Carolla was on the Joe Rogan podcast. It was great. Also Jenna Haze was on the Deathsquad podcast, Brian "Redband" is usually Rogan's cohost on his podcast. Im listening to it now and I can't believe these dildos make a living hosting podcasts they are that bad. Only complete fucking nerds could fuck up an interview with the hottest pornstar today.

I've been slapping up Nerdist links all over the place recently, I guess I should pimp it here as well. Corolla has been on it I think three times, as well as people like Nathan Fillion, Damon Lindelof, most of the cast of Community, and several of the cast of Mad Men, John Oliver, Bill Burr, Paul F. Thompkins, Kevin Pollack... So many good people, so many good conversations.

    My personal favorites:
    Damon Lindelof
    John Oliver
    Dani Pudi
    Nathan Fillion

I've just recently been getting into podcasts and I find that they are great for listening to while working in addition to music which I usually stick to. A lot of what I listen to are video game related podcasts, such as the Gamespot or IGN podcasts (which some of the IGN podcasts are surprisingly good and funny to listen to), as well as some others like the Oddcast or Rebel FM.

Another podcast that I am finding to be very interesting is the Freakonomics podcast. Each one has a specific subject, and they are reasonably short.

On Smodcast Katie Morgan got her own podcast. You either find it adorable or can't stand it. I'm not a fan of fake tits so I don't watch her porn at all but she's great with her shit. Kevin Smith works with her on the first two, then she brings in another pornstar Cassie Young as her cohost from then on. They of course have a ton of fucking stories from the porn industry and their lives. Then their whole thing is taking callers and twitter questions. Cassie has killer stories and is funny as shit because she's a certified nympho. Katie and Cassie are so different even though they are both white, blonde, pornstars with fake tits which of course makes it interesting. Its even funnier because they've been in threesomes with each other and conversation just flows.

Uh and I should warn you that you should probably download them at home and take them into work. The top half of the webpage is a covered yet still scandalous picture of them both naked. I don't think they have video up yet, but Katie and Cassie claim to do the shows topless/naked.

I'd give the thumbs up to the Katie Morgan podcast. Note, don't download or listen at work unless you are comfortable taking bathroom breaks every 15 minutes to crank one off.....

I've listened to the first few episodes of the Katie Morgan podcast and my initial impression is that Katie is smart, funny, and engaging but the co-host sucks at telling stories and comes off as kind of slow on the uptake.

I was hesitant to put this up, but I'm proud of what me and my 17 year old stepson are doing. We started a podcast.
Just like me,, he's insanely dumb about many things,, and pretty smart about a couple. So we shoot the shit with each other for an hour or so every week.
There are three episodes up right now, and we drop them every week around Wednesday.

Here is the website if you want to listen, we're also on Itunes under Cool Dad Luke.
I don't know anything about Facebook,,, but the stepson created a page for it,, and you can thumb it up, or fist bump it, or whatever you people do on Facebook if you like it.

Just so you know,,,its very fucking NSFW as well.

I'd love some feedback from you idiots.

Mike and Tom Eat Snacks (Michael Ian Black and Tom Cavanaugh)

    <a class="postlink" href="http://matescast.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://matescast.com</a>

I loved Ed, when it was on TV. I didn't especially like Michael Ian Black on that show, but I did think he was funny on I Love the 80s and 90s and the State. They have done 36, and I'd say only 1 or 2 are duds. All of them are funny in some regard, there are a handful that are outright hilarious.

This is the only podcast I listen to. Thanks to this thread I will branch out to some more.

Does anybody listen to Sklarboro country or whatever the hell its called?

How Did This Get Made -
Paul Scheer (Andre from FX's The League) does a podcast called How Did This Get Made where he and some other people (Rafi from The League is a regular and it's weird hearing him not be psychotic) dissect and mock bad movies from bad sci fi like Battlefield Earth to romcoms like Gigli. The latest one is about The Room, which is becoming a cult classic if it's not considered that already. They have the costar on and it is fascinating at times to hear all the insanely bad decisions made in the filming of that movie. Very fun.

    Philosophy Bites -
Philosophy podcast with some pretty big names at times. Pretty interesting if you're in the mood for something a little more abstract.

So if anyone listens to Joe Rogans podcast at all you've heard of Joey Diaz. I don't know if half of the shit he says it true but it's 100% funny. Dude is hilarious. He has his own podcast called Beauty and The Beast, which he does with Felicia Michaels. The name is pretty descriptive of the show. A career criminal Cuban turned stand up comedian telling stories of robbing houses, selling blow to Whitney and Bobby, doing time, breaking into his neighbors house on ludes and eating her pussy at 17 years old. Then a pixie voiced girl who seems like a new born baby bunny innocent compared to Joey Diaz. It is fucking awesome.
