Happy Friday folks! I am absolutely luxuriating in this fabulous early fall weather here. I've got the last of my summer garden rolling in and have started some fall plants. I have eaten more soup in the last week than I had in the last 6mo. And, it's about to be sweater weather. I know @Kubla Kahn is all about that sundress weather but being in perpetual cozy mode sounds better to me. Anyone with fall inspired plans? Who is wearing matching flannel for a pumpkin patch photo? Who is getting drunk at the fire pit out back?
Supposed to be in the 90's this weekend so pool one day and boat the next. I need to move where it's mid 80's year round but also don't have to worry about a hurricane blowing my house away.
My wife has gone completely insane with the fall activities. We have pumpkin picking tomorrow morning at 9:30, sharp. Next weekend we have a family photo shoot. With flannel. It’s not even October yet.
My wife is black… Okay she’s not black, but she went to a Beyoncé concert one time. So you know, watch your mouth.
What the the ratio of white women and POC at the concert? Cuz I love me some Beyonce and would have been stoked to go.
Around here Fall blew in with a vengeance, dropping temps to the 50’s today and a frost warning tonight. Between the temps and the rain, it’s officially too fucking cold for me in the comfort of my home and the heat came on.
My fiancé and I have been making scarecrows for the house since we moved in. There's a "competition" each year where local businesses and people can make scarecrows and put them up in front of their places and the local rotary makes a little scarecrow map so you can go and see them all. This is what we made for this year! (You can go into our page and scroll through the grid to see the ones we made the past couple of years as well.) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ci58a98pY-4/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Here's an interesting way to plumb your bathroom: (And yes, that stainless box is a mini fridge. In the bathroom.)
I could see putting a small dorm fridge in a bathroom like if I, a family member, or pet/livestock was taking medications that require refrigeration.
Honestly, if this were a cottage or some other super cheap place that had plumbing issues, that's not a bad way to go. I could imagine this being a bathhouse or some building near a shop or something, that may have had an old hot water tank or plumbing blow up, so they just ran pex to where they needed it. It could also be that they used shit they had left over so didn't have the length to do tidier runs. Hell, it might not have had hot water to start with, and this is how they added it. I know our hunt camp had an old shed that we converted to a shitter with a heated shower that was similar. Not as rough, because a few of our hunters were pro contractors, but it was way more functional than aesthetic. I think I'm going to reserve judgment until I have more context.
It could also be that this is the only warm place around, with minimal insulation, so they run shit on the inside of the walls to stop them from freezing in the winter.
