The forecast today was a massive rain storm - 35mm of rain and high winds.

On to...maybe the kitchen? I dunno. Painting is easier so probably the bed rooms.

    New camera, old steel.

Mauser 98 (made in 1925) shot by a Canon S110.

    I'm glad I got the Canon S110.

I can still take crappy photos with it just as anything, but it is definitely more capable than the Nikons I was using.

Oh this camera has a tilt/shift focus setting? Cool.

Spent the weekend on Assateague Island National Seashore. Awesome place, but you have to store your food like you would in bear country. I watched a woman open up her trunk to get something out and as soon as she turned to set it on the table a horse came up and nabbed a loaf of bread out of her trunk.

    The New Shop

After years of tinkering on cars in his garage, my best friend opened his new high performance shop. After a year in business he's now booked a solid 2 weeks out with 4 full time techs.

The very first customer in his shop was bringing his Maserati in for a clutch job. He pulled in, said "I'll be back in an hour... bill me", then went out and got his car washed/detailed and brought it back. "I didn't want my car to be the dirtiest part of the shop!". He jokes about how most of his clients actually wash their cars before bringing them in.

I remember 2 years ago when it was just a pipe dream we were talking about over a bottle of wine or 6.

    Follow your dreams, people.

    A few travel photos:

Amsterdam, really wish I could've stayed longer than just the layover
    [IMG]

This didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped...position of the sun washed out a very blue sky
    [IMG]

Near Canyonlands NP. The road didn't quite give the leading line I wanted, but overall I really like this one
    [IMG]

This is what I was going for with the road...somewhere in southern Utah near Great Basin NP
    [IMG]

and probably one of the most famous road scenes ever: the road leading into Monument Valley

Not the photo of the vortex, but still, there's a tornado doing damage in there.

    Not so mobile home

Hey, Billy Jim, if you add stucco and quoins, nobody will know it's a trailer.

Good idea. But, I'll have to sell the deck to get the money.
