    Well, fuck.

And he was really starting to hit his stride too. I hope he can actually make a comeback from this unlike so many of the others that were never quite the same afterwards.

Nice sweep of the Red Sox by the A's. If they can sweep the Mariners this weekend they will be over 500 at the All Star Break.

Baseball is getting to the point that I am going to stop watching, games take forever, I don't generally read Riley anymore after some of the shit he said about Tiger Woods but he hit this pretty solid.

...and this is why Rick Rielly is yet another ESPN hack...

Yankees have the best record in baseball, and the biggest division lead.

Not bad for missing Pineda the whole season, Gardner and Mo like half of it, and now dealing with CC and Pettite out. The last one isn't much of a surprise, considering, but still.

The Oakland Athletics just completed a four game sweep of the New York Yankees. It is about time. Nice to see the home team back in contention.

Ichiro to the Yankees. God damn. I wanted him to finish his career here, but he was a shell of himself. Sayonara.

At least he's still good defensively. And maybe he can have some fun with that short porch.

....and...the M's are 8-2 since trading Ichiro. The Yanks? 4-6 with Ichiro seemingly stuck in a 1-4 or 1-5 loop.

Hey, somebody had to capture the Asian market after James Dolan let Lin walk.

Well that's one hell of a way to end a ball game.

I'm kinda sad that I moved out of DC before this year. It must be exciting as hell to go to Nats games these days.

If they shut Strasburg down when they are the favorites to go to the World Series from the NL, it will be an absolute travesty.

Holy shit, Ichiro and now Derek Lowe?

Yankees are pretty much guaranteed to win the 2002 World Series now.

    Wow.

Perfect games, steroid suspensions...this has been a crazy day and the night games haven't even started yet.

Is it any surprise King Felix won 1-0.

The M's must be sporting the most impotent line up in history.

Of the 9 hitters they trotted up to the plate today, 6 had an OBP under .300. Two were batting below the Mendoza line. Only the 3-4-5 hitters were batting at least .250 (.266, ,286, & .250.)

God I miss the good old days when all I had to worry about was the always eventual bullpen melt downs. Jr., Buhner, Edgar, Tino (Before he became a damned Yankee)...those guys could put up some serious crooked numbers.

Look up the Cubs stats. Lowest runs scored in both leagues. And they're in the same division with the Lastros.
In fact I can't think of another division with so many ban boxes. Cincy, Wrigley (when there is no wind or wind blowing out), Left porch in the Juice Box, Miller-Bratwurst Park, and Bush in STL. The only one that isn't on the list is probably PNC.
Everyone in the NL Central should have at least 500 runs scored by now.

Way to go Joba.. Should've taken that ankle injury and rode the Carl Pavano Train to Undeserved Riches into the sunset... But whatever you do, please just go away and stop hurting the team

I can't be the only one hoping that the Orioles get over this, "win every single close game and get every single break" thing and regress to the mediocre team they are, right?

The Orioles and the fucking Athletics. We've got 7 against them before the end of the month, and we've played for shit against them all season. Fucking A's.
