NFL is much easier than other sports IMO, because the player pool isn't nearly as good.

My lineups were mostly meh outside of Ware, but I wound up cashing because he smashed value so hard. I thought his ownership would be insane, but somehow it wasn't, because he was almost a "free square" type play.

With NBA and especially MLB, seems like you just need to be so much sharper just to cash.

I'm 5 minutes away from finishing with 0 points on my bench. Not bad for week #1.
    Jamaal Charles
    Rob Gronkowski
    Tyler Eifert
    Markus Wheaton
    Josh Doctson
    Laquon Treadwell

I already have waiver claims in for Quincy Enunwa and Chris Hogan. Also available are Nelson Agholor and Victor Cruz. PPR league and I am 2nd in waiver priority, so I will be able to get one of them. I'm leaning towards Enunwa because he has the least competition for targets.

RB is currently picked clean. I'm hoping somebody drops a serviceable backup to add a receiver, because I had Sproles and Terrance West along with Forte in my lineup this week.

So, I'm obviously a bit late on getting an initial roster evaluation going, but I'll post my original lineup here and then ask a question to address a clearly obvious issue I'm now dealing with.

    QB - Derek Carr
    RB - Devonta Freeman
    RB - Spencer Ware
    WR - Dez Bryant
    WR - Keenan Allen
    TE - Coby Fleener
    FLX - Larry Fitzgerald
    DST - Jets
    K - Dan Bailey
    BE - Rashad Jennings
    BE - Derrick Henry
    BE - Corey Coleman
    BE - Mohamed Sanu
    BE - Dwayne Allen
    BE - Dak Prescott

So obviously I need to address the loss of Keenan Allen. It's a 12 team 0.5 PPR league and the waiver wire is already pretty thin with the top three WRs being Eli Rogers, Jeremy Kerley, and Brandon LaFell. Any upside in picking up a middling replacement WR, or would I be better off trying to flip someone out in a trade?

Stick Fitz as your WR2 and put either Sanu or Jennings in your flex. You're kind of hosed cause you have no depth and no one super attractive for a trade. Can you post further down your waiver wire for W/R/T, like top 25 would be fine. I'm thinking there is some value in there you are overlooking.

    My running backs are
    • Jamaal Charles
    • Matt Forte
    • Darren Sproles
    • Terrance West
    in a 12-team PPR league.

I have someone offering me Isaiah Crowell and Frank Gore for Charles. My initial thought was "hell no," but now I'm starting to worry about Charles being out for a quarter of the season or more. Should I gamble on Charles bouncing back or take the safer option of middling running back play?

    My whole roster:
    QB - Andrew Luck
    RB - Matt Forte
    RB - Terrance West
    WR - Demaryius Thomas
    WR - Marvin Jones
    TE - Eric Ebron
    WR/RB/TE - Rob Gronkowski
    DST - Cardinals
    K - Brandon McManus
    BE - Jamaal Charles
    BE - Tyler Eifert
    BE - Darren Sproles
    BE - Markus Wheaton
    BE - Quincy Enunwa
    BE - Josh Doctson

You need a RB, but Gore isn't it. Try to package DT and Sproles for a RB1 and pluck someone off the waiver wire for WR. Once Eifert comes back, run him and gronk as TE/Flex and sub in a WR for your loss of DT. If Charles comes back, you have some options, if he doesn't, you will be fine and can make some more moves on the waiver wire later in the season.

    Lineup questions:

    Here is my current lineup:

    QB: Wilson
    RB: Ingram, L Murray
    WR: A Brown, A Jeffrey
    TE: Fleener
    Flex: Ware
    D/ST: Ravens
    K: Catanzaro

Bench: J Winston, Woodhead, Maclin, Diggs, S Shephard, C Coleman

    So here are my questions:
    1. QB - I am worried about Wilson bouncing back from his injury, should I start Winston instead?
    2. RB - I would expect that Woodhead will be getting more carries with the loss of Allen so should I start him?
    3. WR - I seem to have a plethora of WR, should I try to offload one in a trade? If so who and what should I target? I am keeping AB, so outside of him of course. I know the person who has Adrian Peterson would offload him.
    4. TE - he stinks. I could offer a WR for a TE maybe? Float a trade to the guy who has Julius Thomas?

    Wilson is fine.
Woodhead will be getting more action, but you aren't going to replace any of your starters for him. MAYBE Ingram, but that's about it.
Try to ship someone Shepard after the game they have this week against the Saints. You could get a lot for him, maybe someone like Delanie Walker or Greg Olsen to give you a good TE.
    Don't pick up Julius Thomas.

0.5 PPR: Golden Tate (vs Tenn), Willie Snead (at NYG), Emmanuel Sanders (vs Indy), Michael Crabtree (vs Atlanta).

I need to pick 3 to play, and all seem to be similar to me. Leaning towards sitting Crab. Any thoughts?

Devonta Freeman, Rashad Jennings, Spencer Ware. Need to start two out of the three of these guys.

Personally I'd go with Freeman and Ware, but really it's a coin flip between Freeman and Jennings. Who are you starting in the flex (if you have one)? Those three are all top 15 RBs this week. I have a hard time imagining your WR depth is so good you can outperform those three.

I already played Forte in my RB1 slot, so this is my second RB and my flex spot. Currently I've got Dez and Larry Fitzgerald in my two WR slots. I had Keenan Allen, but...

Someone offered me Latavius Murray and Cole Beasley for Marvin Jones and Darren Sproles in a 12 team PPR league. I'm not sure how I feel about Murray only getting 8 carries last week, but he still scored 21 points. Thoughts?

Only if you are desperate for a RB. Marvin Jones is the WR in Detroit and Sproles is basically warming the bench, so the trade is basically Jones for Murray which isn't a good trade.

0-2 so in hindsight, this is the absolute worst choice for lineup I could have made. My bench handily outscored by team. And I lost a RB. So, now I need to pick up a new RB. Here is availability. Unfortunately I am waiver 10/10 so better dig deep. Here are the choices available: Hill, McKinnon, Forsett, Ivory, Michael,, K Dixon, Ajayi, probably some others....

If you find Kenyon Drake, the Miami RB, he would be worthy of a pickup to hold down your bench. He'll probably take over for Ajayi after a week of getting touches.
Besides that, try and get Hill, then Michael. Don't pick up Forsett, that back field is a mess you don't want to touch.
