I think this website has the best skin selections, and I think all of them would work well. The one that Rob4Broncos posted was okay, but it was just blue on blue on blue on blue on blue, which makes it look boring. These others are much more pleasing.

Good thing I can still read small text. You wouldn't want to ban this awesomeness though. I bring a lot to the table.

I agree completely. I find the darker backgrounds easier to read. Is there anyway we could get a menu option with a dark skin?
I've seen that before on a few boards. Just a thought.

I sympathize with my fellow basement dwellers on here who provide a dark theme when they are browsing this forum in near darkness most of the day. I kind of prefer darker themes myself.

But white text on dark backgrounds typically sucks (as one poster pointed out) and makes the forum look like a Live Journal from 10 years ago.

I think one idea is to give the forum a darker background, but actually have the text itself on a gray or lighter background, sort of like this:

    <a class="postlink" href="http://www.completevb.com/product/20" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.completevb.com/product/20</a>

Just one example, I really didn't browse for too long. That one is still too bright for my tastes, but maybe illustrates my point.

    Another general idea: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.adminfusion.com/forums/130-skins-themes/7589-black-steel-vbulletin-3-5-3-a.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.adminfusion.com/forums/130-s ... 5-3-a.html</a>

    Another, color-wise, obvi the game controller sucks: <a class="postlink" href="http://imgur.com/eC2Rj.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://imgur.com/eC2Rj.png</a>

This site is an EVE-online fan site, and I quite like the theme. It's really easy on the eyes in low-light conditions. Check it out:

I am not a huge fan of white text on dark backgrounds. I read this forum on computers in well lit rooms and it just strains my eyes to have the white on black/dark themes.

vBulletin lets you quick-select themes from the bottom left, if you check that link. So you could have a default dark theme, and a light theme for folks that don't like dark themes. I think the dark theme should take precedence because it's a lot harder to make those look good / be acceptable.
