He did say she was closer to a baboon than him. That was an excellent episode, Chase had some good character development, Taub grew some balls and yes Cuddy was a cold hearted bitch. 16 spleen fragments? Awesome
Yeah, it means she scores below ~90% of the population if I remember the normal curve. She'd be a functional human being, but you might see her in line at a Sarah Palin book signing. And just in case it was unclear, that was an idiot joke, not a politics joke.
I liked this episode. Anything that breaks the typical formula is good I think. Although I have to admit, from the trailers I thought Wilson would end up doing something much more dramatic or possibly illegal, not donating a part of his liver.
That is exactly what I was thinking. Wilson just realized that he was being bitched around, and he finally was confronted with humans as we are. Now am I wrong in thinking that I swear I saw a promo for this week's house with house saying something about being wrong, but not able to get it out?
I hope not, but if anything were to make him want to be an angry miserable old bastard, it would be giving up a piece of your liver for someone that just exploited and used you.
This is the theme for the season, or at least the first half of the season: regression towards the mean. Think of it like a spectrum of Houseness. House becomes more healthy -- he talks about his feelings a little, he tells people what they mean to him a little, he tries to help his friend a little. And all the people around him become more like him -- Cuddy gave him a fake address, Chase made a big show to deceive everyone into giving him a little space, Taub deceived his wife so he could continue to work for House, and then Wilson's diagnostic magic in this episode. Forman's already struggled with, and accepted, his Housian nature. Watch for 13 to do something similar in the coming episodes.
Wow spot on! I didn't think about it like that until you put it into words. I think you are 100% right about this. I suppose it does make sense that House being such a miserable, angry bastard would help keep his colleagues sane. Don't forget Chase MURDERING someone, I think that's more important than deceiving people to get some space.
Personally, I think this episode was one of the best so far. I can see a nice connection between Chase and Thirteen coming up. Wilson's proposal to House was awesome, and the patient's undercover story blended in really well with the other events. And due to a painful pinched nerve in my neck, I'm glad this post came out somewhat coherent.
I thought it was a great one too. Normally one of the sub-plots lets the episode down a bit but each one was firing this time. Also, I'm an Ethan Embry fan so it was nice to see him pop up.
Dammit, Foreman and 13 are gonna get back together, aren't they. I liked the POTW; they could have gone overboard with a psychotic patient, but I think they did it well here. And I saw the whole thing with House's med school colleague coming. That one was just too easy.
I like seeing Cuddy's sweater kittens when they're on display like that, but overall I didn't like the episode that much. There was virtually no actual medicine involved here, and Cuddy really isn't capable of carrying an episode like this. The Wilson episode was great, but seeing the life of an administrater was too predictable and boring for me. The insurance and pharmacy bits were too unrealistic for me.
Re: There's virtually no actual medicine in any episode. They get both little and big things wrong all the time. Watching House for the medicine is like watching porno for relationship advice. Though I do have to agree with you about the rest of the episode.
Re: Re: True, I don't think what I wrote came out right. What I meant was the episode basically just focused on the business end of a hospital instead of patient care, solving a puzzle, etc. It's cool they branched out and tried something different, but I just don't think it worked.
I like when you see the crazy shit that House's team does from the periphery. Lisa E is gorgeous. And Lucas is always fun to see. But I watch this show cause it's predictable.
Chase should do Thirteen already. I don't care that Foreman planted the flag first, but I definitely liked this episode. The plot with House's book took a curve I didn't see coming. I also wanted to choke the fucking patient with her blogging crap. No way in hell I'd stay with someone who posted every little minute detail about our lives online.
Spoiler I liked the episode until the "my dad slept with my teenaged, still in high school girlfriend" part. Seriously?
Fucking finally. What a great episode. Rare to see his patients die, but it felt very organic. Cuddy's sudden about face was unexpected, but they've been building up to it for seasons, so not THAT unexpected. 13 and Taub's fellowship should be over by the time next season starts up. I wonder what they're going to do with them. 13 is clearly fading fast, I wonder if maybe she dies in the interim.
