You also need a compensator for pistols with barrels that tilt otherwise it doesn't have clearance to cycle. Heard that is why Luigi Mangione's pistol jammed every single shot with his bootleg silencer. I have a couple of HK Tacticals that come with taller iron sights to allow for a silencer. They also have a weird ass thread pitch no one else uses because they hate their customers.
This new gun is getting relatively cheap laser/light combo, until I get it a red dot that will look over the suppressor. If it proves reliable, it will probably be my new home defense/bedside gun.
Yeah I hear ya, it's expensive for what it is. I could buy a pre-ban AR if I was really adamant about it. But I'm not and I've heard shit from guys that have them that cops give them a hard time. If the rest of this state wasn't so relatively well put together and I didn't literally live in one of the safest towns in the country, I would have bounced a long time ago. And before someone wags an irony finger at me, this town is also very well-armed statistically speaking.
Just refound Kentucky Ballistics YouTube channel and am going down a hilarious rabbit hole. It not only makes me laugh, but it also makes me wish I could buy and use a bunch of the guns he's got. I would love to get my hands on a .50 BMG. You know, to shoot squirrels in the back yard.
Coincidentally, we Virginians will still be able to buy a .50 BMG, but not your run o' the mill .223 in the ever so terrifying AR platform. If the blue fascists get their way, and Spanberger signs the immediate gun grab that the democrats passed as soon as political power swinging their way.
Did I mention the main Democrat associated with that gun bill, was not even born America? He was born Bangladesh, or some shit. Just sayin.
Of all the things the democrats in the Virginia state legislature could have jumped on to unfuck from the Younkin administration, they pass this shitty bill that doesn't enact any meaningful reform or changes to state firearms laws. Its damn near the only thing they could do to guarantee the state legislature swings back to MAGA in next election cycle.
It does ban the sale of assault weapons and high capacity magazines. And it is a very slow gun confiscation, because the only way pre-ban guns can change hands is a proper will upon the death of the owner, to an immediate family that is named in the will, as long they are not otherwise prohibited from owning guns. It is shitty, and I don't see it standing up to appeals in higher courts. It would be meaningful, if they could get it to stick, somehow. They're also hoping they get the votes to undo previous vote on the districts, and they get their 10 to 1 favorable districts. It won't matter who the governor is. That district map is republican proof.
