Missed that. TOTALLY missed grand maester Pycell being the head Nazi from Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.
Minor spoiler if you haven't read Dance: Spoiler There was a fourth dude in the tent with Jon, Mance and Tormund Giantsbane. I'm thinking that's Varamyr Sixskins. I remember reading an article where they merged his and Orel's characters.
That's for getting that MC. Definitely think they should have tossed in the puppies still, gotta make that bad people seem really bad.
There's still plenty of back-and-forth between the slavers and Daenerys to come, so I assume it'll come up. It's too choice a tidbit to pass up. Maybe Grey Worm will mention it.
Also you motherfucker who read the book need to tighten those loose lips and keep that shit in the Book thread. Keep it to the last aired episode for the love of god, and I ain't even talking about the spoiler tags because I have yet to click on one.
Glad someone pointed out the puppies/babies thing, 'cause I was pretty sure it was both, and I thought that would have hammered home the point even more.
If we're discussing Charles Dance in Last Action Hero, then you have to include "that scene": ...God, I died that first time I saw that.
This show is beginning to worry me. They are condensing too much, and in a way that definitely feels pressed for time. Spoiler The Bran/Jojen scene in particular made me want to go "dude, wait, slow...slow down a sec". When did Bran gain so much knowledge of his condition? So far it's just been bad dreams. So many parallel narratives developing at once, none of them are getting the attention they deserve. Spoiler What in seven hells will they do with the fugitive Tyrion storyline?
Strongly agree on the matter of condensing. They're doing an excellent job of portraying overall things while condensing (Margaery's razor sharp acumen as showcased in her scene with Joffrey is an excellent example), but the level of detail found in ASOIAF is hugely missing. I really, really wish they could just make massively detailed miniseries, though I understand why they can't. What I will applaud is the acting - old lady Tyrell in particular was true to the character, and the girl who plays Arya is going to enjoy a very, very lucrative acting career. Overall, for how much material they're converting to TV, they're doing an excellent job. It's just not possible to be as faithful to the books as fans of ASOIAF would like.
Alright episode nothing too major. Once again Ayra meets what looks to be another insanely interesting ancillary character. Maybe not water dancer/faceless assassin cool but interesting none the less.
It's so hard watching this with people who haven't read the books. They've got all sorts of questions because so much of what's onscreen is confusing right now and I can almost never give straight answers. I know it will all be worth it at the end of this season and the next one though. There will be blood.
This. My roommate just started watching the show but he didn't bother going back to watch the first two seasons (that I have recorded on the DVR). Too many questions, he just needs to catch up. I almost wish I hadn't read the books because its impossible not to compare the show to what I've read. There are changes but I really think they're doing it very well for the massive story they're working with. The sets are pretty badass too. Dragonstone looked wicked.
Man, Brianna absolutely embarrassed Jaime. That had to bea huge blow to his massive ego. And I love Margeary. She is dismantling Cersei in the best way while gaining all the kudos and looking like the gentle soul. Awesome.
I've been hanging for the Hound to make his appearance, I loved the bit with him and Arya dodging between the different forces. And it's great to see Theon get his payback for being a whiny little bitch.
