Funny you mention that, since the chick who plays Shea IS a hardcore porn star, but compare Doreah to that....thing? How dare you sir.
Eh, there is just something off about Shea. Maybe cause I saw her in that German porn before she got her nose job, but she's just not as sexy as the Doreah for me, maybe because her sexuality is thrust upon us.
I can't be certain if it's just too soon in the series, or they're going too far off from the books, but book-Tywin is a completely insufferable jerk. Think Ebeneezer Scrooge with an army and a kingdom at stake.
"Anyone can be killed" FTFY. Much more badass, and that scene wasn't even in the book. Every episode needs to be three hours long. One hour flies by so fast it's crazy.
I could not agree more. There is a lot of "That'd didn't happen, but I CAN see how that could happen or should have happened." That along with the music, and seeing it happen, I get excited watching the show. Lord Tywin is a great character, ONLY because the story isn't told from his point of view. In all respects, nothing says he is not as honorable as Eddard Stark. But since we're following Eddard's kids, his wife, his bastard, his family, we jump all on their bandwagon and makes him the villian even thought he hasn't done a damn thing wrong.
Except birthing a couple of sick sibling fuckers and terribly manipulating and psychologically abusing his disabled son. I mean besides being a terrible father on all accounts he seems like he's an OK guy.
Tywin is a total badass and former Hand of the King. The dude basically made the Seven Kingdoms prosperous and relatively peaceful for like twenty years. That said, he's still a horrible person. He simply made the trains run on time. Possible Spoiler, but not a big one i don't think. Spoiler Tywin also enables, condones, and orders the depredations of people like Sir Amory Lorch, Sir Gregor Clegane, and that entire merry band of sadistic murdering wretches that follow them around Definite Spoiler. Spoiler Plus the baby killing of Dany's relatives during the rebellion
Well is that any worse than Robert who religiously cheated on his wife and Ned cheated on his? Plus Robert had been trying to kill Viserys and our beautiful, beautiful Dany as children. Tywin doesn't know his children are knocking boots, I bet if he did, he'd kill them both. As a good father should.
Major spoilers! Major Spoilers! Be Aware! Do Not Click if you haven't read the books or don't want to be spoiled! Spoiler A few of Tywin's deeds from the books: Sicks Gregor Clegane on the world, and basically tells him to kill, rape, and destroy the riverlands. Ordered the murder of all the Targaryen children, and it was only luck that Dany escaped. Not joking, major spoilers abound: NSFW Tywin was responsible for Tyrion's issues with women after his first wife. Once Tywin found out Tyrion married (to a prostitute that Jamie hired) he forced a bunch of his soldiers to bang her in front of Tyrion, then called her a whore, paid her, and sent her away. Needless to say, this did not make Tyrion happy. Again, seriously, I cannot emphasize how big this spoiler is: NSFCMC Tywin was also the mastermind behind the "Red Wedding." If you've read the books you know what I mean. If you haven't, shame on you for clicking this, and just wait for it. The thing that I find the most interesting is that Jamie is a great swordsman and cocky as hell, Cersei craves the power, but Tyrion (who loathes Tywin) is most like his dad. Tyrion and Tywin are both incredibly intelligent and scheming, and can both manipulate people into doing their bidding, and they play the game better than almost anyone.
I think this is what pisses Tywin most off about Tyrion. That his deformed son, Spoiler who killed his wife being born, that he actually loved unconditionally, not sure if that was said in the show so don't want to spoil is more like him than his twin boy and girl. I tend to look at Tywin not as this cold hearted, merciless killer, but as someone who has NO heart, and NO feelings and there is only his power, wealth, and future of his family's name. If Jamie died, there would be no tears because he doesn't feel anymore but he'd set out to make sure what he's built continues on. Re-reading this I realize I said exactly the same thing as you, but wanted to make my point about Tywin not feeling anything so will keep it all there.
Most recent book spoilers (correcting a couple minor mistakes as fanboys are wont to do): Spoiler One of the Targaryen sons survived as well. Not only is Tywin a dick, he hires incompetent men. Also, the woman Tyrion married was NOT a prostitute -she was exactly as she appeared: An innocent commoner. This makes Tywin's (and also Jamie's) part in the whole thing exponentially more evil and unforgivable.
Ahem - isn't this the show thread to discuss things that are happening on the TV show that has already aired? Isn't there a separate thread to discuss in greater details the things that haven't yet happened in the show? I have read the books, but can only imagine how frustrating it must be for the people who have not read the books to click on this thread to discuss the show only to find endless amounts of links to spoilers that they are not supposed to click.
Yea, SHADDAP. Jesus, someone already gave away Ned's death early last year, is there anything else that need ruining for us since we're on a roll? Go to the book thread, Puh-LEEZ. This is the TV show thread.
