First person to make a "Shirley" joke gets punched

As he heads into that great comedy spoof in the sky, "I just want to say, good luck. We're all counting you."

 

I grew up watching Leslie Nielsen films as a kid; I even thought his supposedly "lesser" works like "Spy Hard" and the third Naked Gun were tremendously funny. The guy was terrific, and carried some excellent comedies; not only did he have his deadpan delivery working for him, but his classic, handsome 60's look made the juxtaposition of the comedy with his manner that much funnier.
