That account sounds familiar, and it's pretty obvious from the pilot that was going to be the case. Although, being listed first in the credit is nowhere near the honorific as having your name preceded in the credits by an "and" like Jeremy Piven has, so it's not like Kevin Connolly has a whole lot to brag about.

Something about this episode didn't really impress me. I just can't quite put my finger on why.

    On the other hand....
Vince's attitude adjustment after the stunt has me excited. He went from being really hesitant and scared to ready to go at it again, and walked around like he grew a pair. I have a feeling we will get to see Vince take on a "bad boy" personality and get into some crazy shit this season.

I am hoping that Vince got a severe concussion from his stunt and there will finally be a good reason for his perpetual retardation.

Otherwise I loved it. Ari and Mrs. Ari were wonderful when they were bickering, as usual.

They use "and" and "featuring" in very specific ways down in Hollywood. For instance the Coen Bros.
basically gave away the fact that Brad Pitt's character dies midway in Burn After Reading because they had him featuring not starring. Not many caught it though.

The episode was decent. I can't put my finger on it but I think it lacked the drive of previous, good season's episodes. I loved Season 2 and 3, personally.

This show is pretty much the domestic violence equivalent of cable tv. No matter how many times it is awful to me I keep going back thanks to memories of the past, hoping against hope that times will go back to how they were. The first episode was simply 'blah', I really hope this is the final season and they resign to going out in a blaze of titties, celeb cameos and just living the good life.

edit: oh and E getting mauled to death by Arnold.

I feel like this is where the show is headed:

Ari growing his business by expanding
    E slowly turning into Ari
Turtle being able to support himself
    Drama getting some bullshit show
Vince being bored with his life, needs that adrenaline. I kind of hope they don't do the whole actor into hardcore drugs thing with him.

I thought it was alright, nothing special, but at least didn't suck so as to really support all of the hate thrown at the show. So far none of the prospective story lines seem that interesting at all. I think Turtle being in over his head with a small business run by HOT women has some potential, but can't drive the whole show. Other than that maybe the plots just haven't had enough time to be put in total focus.

It took me about four separate viewings to piecemeal the episode together thanks to a sketchy cable connection, but I finally got through it. Some thoughts:

    - I tend to watch every episode now with College Humor's "Every Week On Entourage" playing humourously in the back of my mind, and this week was no disappointment. "Vince can't do the stunt/Vince is going to do the stunt" was a familiar meme, and if nothing else "Entourage" has a comfortable and familiar feel to it.

    - Ari's "Biggest Agent In The World" status doesn't appeared to have softened the character any, which is a good thing. I'm just wondering if we'll see Lloyd graduate to more than one client, since I'm not sure "Team Drama" is going to be an upwardly mobile position at TMA.

    - Glad to see Turtle is getting his car service off the ground; it seems like a far more realistic vocation than representing rappers. And don't lie: you'd totally hire a service that provides hot drivers too.

    - Drama is right back where he belongs: struggling to get in the game. If anyone is looking for something close to a "true" Hollywood story than Johnny Chase is it. You can't swing a dead cat in Los Angeles without hitting an actor that was formerly, perhaps inexplicably, on a successful television show but had a hard time repeating that feat again. (For chrissakes, pilot season is a convention Who's Who of former prime time stars desperately looking for another paycheck.) And naturally, Drama had the best line/moment of the episode: "ET's here?"

    - Which brings me to TiB's favorite whipping boy, Eric Murphy. Refreshingly, he wasn't up to much this episode aside from being the butt of Ari's jokes, which is about the only thing he does really well. I'm still confused as to why anyone besides Vince would pay this tool to come anywhere near their career, but it appears Drama might be looking to make that very mistake. Let's see what kind of damage E can do for the other Chase brother.

All in all, not bad for a "welcome back" episode but nothing special.

As long as they focus on the "business" the show will be good. Stray away from stupid E's personal life unless you show Sloan nude.

I also smell some sort of sexual harassment case against Turtle, he should have known better.

Which emotion was Adrian Grenier trying to show at the end there? I feel as confused about it as he looked.

Taking a break after one episode, huh? I'm telling you people; cut out HBO and watch online. Hook your computer up to your tv and it'll be just like the real thing. Except you'll save money.

I'm glad someone else brought that up. By no means was I devastated by not having Entourage to watch last night, but it seems absolutely stupid to start up a series then take a break the following week. If the holiday was the problem, then why not start it the week after the 4th? Makes no sense.

What am I watching? Have the writers just totally given up?

-Vince with a weird death thing
    - Drama looking for work (incredibly different from past seasons)
    - Ari choosing his wife over work (another new storyline)
    - Turtle chasing down some broad ( I guess Meadow is totally gone now, yeah I call her Meadow)

Don't forget celebrity cameo's!! Bob Saget was of course funny but it wouldn't surprise me if that was his improv, not Entourage's writers. I honestly do not know what is going on with the show, after two episodes the series has no real plot, no substance.

It was kind of cool to think about Ari owning a football team, It was awesome to see Lloyd driving a sweet new Challenger instead of his fast and furious car and of course the nudity, but again what am I watching? Is there a story in here somewhere?

I guess I'm glad we are not being tortured with E's love life but if they spring something on us when it looks as though Vince chooses Scott Caan's character over E I don't think I could take it. All Vince ever preaches is loyalty but now because of a bad stunt he loses his mind?

Entourage has been drowning for a while now it feels like they were thrown an anvil instead of a life preserver.

***Two things I forgot one good, one bad. Bad, the acting between Drama and Vince in the strip club was some of the worst I have ever seen (how can it be that forced after seven years?) Good- whoever picks the songs for the end of the show is the BEST in the business. I can't think of any show that knocks my socks off that way as often as Entourage does, either that or the show is so bad that a cool song looks that much better after enduring an entire episode.

Anyone else notice porn star Brooke Banner as the first stripper they show when cutting to the strip club? Just me? Ok...

Imagine if they took out all the story lines. Set up a line of gay guys. Had Ari stand there and berate them for about 5 minutes. Then have gratuitous tit shots for the rest of the time with some excellent music playing.

If there is a season 8, that's how I hope it goes. Gold baby, Gold.

The most disappointing part of the most recent episode was the usually awesome Shauna acting like a complete jellyfish when Maria Menounos told her to fuck off. I usually count on pinch hitters like Shauna to knock it out of the park when they pop in, not turn into watered down versions of E; we get enough of that incompetence every week already. Hopefully Marvin (next episode) won't make the same mistake when he comes to lecture Turtle.

Bob Saget, on the other hand, made the most of his recurring role and made Eric squirm...which in turn made me very happy. Scott Caan is also doing a fine job of making E look like an in-over-his-head weenie as well so as long as he keeps it up I'm happy to have him onscreen. Clearly we aren't going to learn what happened to Eric's unreasonably hot assistant played by Kate Mara, but as long as he doesn't get to boss her around all is right in the world.

I just have to comment on this. El Tee's expectations of the show are so low that all you have to do is embarrass E or make E uncomfortable and he will half enjoy the episode. That is how low Entourage has sunk. If they have an episode with a bunch of nudity and BJ Penn beating the ever living shit out of E people will want it nominated for an Emmy! Yeah ok, I would absolutely love to see that as well.

We still have not really discussed what Vince is supposed to be going through right now (Because Grenier can't act) is it adrenaline rush's that he's going for here?

Just watched the new episode last night, and while I can't remember specific lines, I did laugh more in that episode than pretty much any last year (though the Tom Brady/golf episode comes to mind). That's not to say I was hysterical by any means, but so far this season is doing a reasonable job of making me forget the mostly awful previous season.

First off, going back to your previous posts, I don't think you, or anyone (including the writers) is into this show for the compelling plot lines. It's all about the rich 'n wacky hijinks, Ari, and boobs. Having said that, they had to do something with Vince this season, and to me it looks like he's going through a sort of "I'm a completely made celebrity trying to figure out what I can do to just feel ALIVE anymore" phase. Is it particularly compelling? No (and holy fuck balls is Grenier somehow becoming a worse actor), but it will bring Sasha Grey into the mix, and I'm telling you, if we all think positive enough, there WILL be an episode where she eats out Sloan's asshole.

The only actual interesting conflict revolves around Ari, and he carries the show in my eyes. I'm not gonna defend it that much, and maybe it's my lowered expectations after last season, but I think they're rolling this season out nice enough...so far.

Hung, on the other hand, is slowly but surely moving up my list of fave shows.

Calling or making Eric look like a bitch is award show gold. Just ask Jeremy Piven's three Emmys.

I'm seriously considering applying for a Master's degree in communication just so I can write a thesis titled "Kate Austen, Tim McManus, and Eric Murphy: A Comparitive Study of Television's Biggest Cunts".
