Pelosi has vetoed Jordan and Banks, and McCarthy has responded by pulling all Republicans from the commission. Unclear at this point if that includes Cheney (who was a Pelosi pick, not a McCarthy one).

If one of those republicans who McCarthy pulled decided to participate could they?

Or do they need McCarthy's sign-off to participate?

Because now would be a good time for Republicans to decide that they believe in country over party.

    Lol

I could see Cheney and Kinziger joining up. Maybe she could even get Romney to be on it. Even though he’s in the senate, I could see that being an interesting move.

So it is a choice that they could make.

As opposed to something that they are being stopped from doing.

Pelosi already appointed Cheney as one of her original selections, and McCarthy said he was only pulling HIS 5 nominees, so I'm guessing Cheney will stay on. Not sure if now that he's withdrawn his full list Pelosi will now nominate OTHER Republican's in defiance of McCarthy.

Cheney is the only GOP member who isn’t there specifically to obstruct justice. Good riddance to the other twats.

The committee lost all credibility the second Adam Schiff was added to it anyway. The delusional morons McCarthy picked are just the shit cherry on the shit sundae. The entire thing is dead on arrival.

Can one of you people explain to me conservative twitters attack on Simone Biles? Usually I can figure out why they are upset about, but this time I’m drawing a blank.

They think she's a weak snowflake who is embarrassing the United States (because suddenly they care about what the rest of the world thinks about us I guess, even though the UN literally laughing in Trump's face was met with "who cares what those Eurofags think") by not being "tough" enough to compete. This is part of their long-running obsession with perceptions of strength and weakness (not in any way a noted feature of fascism).

The truth is that she has the gymnastics version of "the yips" (which gymnasts call "the twisties"). Unlike the yips, which leads to hilarious throws 10 feet over the first baseman's head, the twisties can get you killed because of the whole "might land on neck" thing.

I understand why she quit. I just didn’t understand why she wa a getting attacked. Is she an outspoken enemy of conservatives? Or is this just because she made America look bad?

As far as I can tell by backing out after her initial performance, which was abysmal, the American team was able to get a medal.

But by backing out and letting someone more able to take her place she demonstrated very clearly why people should make the best decision for the group rather then themselves.

And that runs counter to the "fuck your feelings" and the "I got mine" attitude that seems to form the core of the extremely delicate conservative identity.

I'm sure that there are a bunch of other factors that are fueling these attacks that tie into sexism, racism and/or the idea that athletes only exist as a source of entertainment.

In the end she made a choice that in the end earned America a medal.
